Poor ol' Bag & Sledge.
Seems to have an issue with local sports media people.... except one. Strange. Fellow posters can refer to page 84 of the other BL&G forum to see a clear pattern regarding attacks on myself by Baggy. Funny, I seem to recall a local football column of sorts which used to have the title of Bag & Sledge..... but anyway that was a long time ago.

Bag & Sledge wrote:Does anyone know if Mike Teakle & Keith Jameison will keep their job on the Triple B FM radio show on saturday mornings?

My thought is we need some new blood like Sven Lindner or Paul Ryan to get involved, at least they can put two words together in a sentence, unlike Teakle.

p. 100 on the other BL&G forum.

Even Mike and Jamo have copped it in the neck from him!
To put your mind at ease though Baggy, I'll run you through my column (slowly - just for you)
"A Sporting Chance" runs news, comment and now and then a rumour. Not gossip. The rumours come from people I respect, and are printed as just that - rumours. I am not interested in "finding gossip".
If you think the piece about Jenner coming back to GC was a big headline, then you are easily impressed - it was simply first cab off the rank, and I did say it was always likely he would be back. Not "everyone" knew it though(it hasn't even appeared on this forum!).
I respect Rob Laidlaw and he has helped me a lot, but rarely does he feed me for the column. I am expected to use my contacts to generate news, and I do so.
As for having no breaking news - didn't you say you don't read my column?! LOL! Gee, you've missed a lot!
Feedback tells me "A Sporting Chance" is quite popular (even more so during the footy season) and I appreciate the support of posters recently on this forum.
So fellow posters, let's put a deal to Baggy. Let's see if he is smart enough and disciplined enough to return to the topic this thread is for - BL&G recruiting, player movements, etc.
BUT, if he doesn't, HE REVEALS HIS NAME ON THE FORUM (as I have) AND WE CAN CHECK HIS CREDIBILITY!
Are you a strong enough man, Baggy, to do one or the other??? Have you grown enough to move on from personal attacks?? Let's wait and see BL&G posters - watch this space.....!
As I reflected back on how I hesitated for a second before walking into the lion's cage carrying a leg of lamb, I thought to myself .......... I've got to do something about this lack of confidence.

Well at least clubs can start planning functions now, bit silly that it has been drawn out this long no matter which way the decision went.

As well as families planning weekends away when their club is scheduled for the bye.... etc.

Whether clubs or individuals think it is the right decision, it has been made now, everyone has to deal with it and prepare for the season!

BL&G_Ump - will there be rule books at those ump trainings

Just an easy stir really... couldnt resist the opportunity!!!

The only prob I have with umps is that even if every ump is consistant in their calls, the 2 umps are not always on the same page with their calls.... Frustrating watching thats all

But that is always going to happen! ;)

Could someone compile a list of the complete ins and outs for each club in the BL&G?
This would be greatly appreciated!

Tanunda- B WALL (talent, will effect Tanundas depth in the middle, and take away that smart small forward)
Barossa- B James (wont be missed, people might enjoy the peace and quiet, only got a kick because of Barossa depth) , Matt & Paul STELZER (quality men, too hard for Barossa to replace, big hole, kills their depth)
Gawler Central - B NIKLAUS (60+ goals are hard to find, but his commitment was questionable), G COOKE (up and down like a yo-yo, would be handy to keep, but not a great loss)
Kapunda- M Cassadia (one of the youth Kapunda have been able to produce of late, will effect them as he would have been a 150+ gamer, had skills) , Adam Turrel (lazy, had skills and used his size well in the ruck, but if they find someone with height I would say that would be a good replacement)
Willaston- C Mclean (Great Skills, midfielder who kicks goals, tough gig for the bakers without him) , M Mclean (week in week out player, would add to a good line up but not a match winner) , L Coghill (only forward target, played well, Willaston will miss if they dont sign a key forward)
South Gawler- A Geradis (the only constant forward South really had, not sure his baggage effects teh club) , A Johnston (huge loss for south, just did his job on the wing, could win games) , A Carapetis , ABevis (when fit one of the best in the comp, local boy that woill be hard to replace with another local, hurts import allocations)
Freeling- S Leal (good leader, creative in the forward line last year, that experience is hard to find) , B Neberry (athletic types are hard to find, and they dont have the depth to cover), S lomond (didnt really play last year, but cover the ground like an extra midfielder, not many teams can boast that about their ruckman), S Farley
Nuri- Unsure
Ango- Unsure

My thoughts on your list MM

Any thoughts on Ian Stafford as senior coach returning to Nuri. Hows he going? Id say the game plan will be quite a bit different than previous years at Nuri

Didn’t need a game plan at Nuri then, Father Christmas could have coached those premierships. With the success he once had, this also brings back memories of the glory days. Good numbers on the track with some locals returning.
Swamp – His 90’s side was about a dominant as your side a couple of years ago, but they done this for about 6 or 7 consecutive years. What sort of impression did he leave at your club?
Are you prepared to pay the price? WILL YOU PAY THE PRICE?

Good to hear Nuri have good numbers...

But often when you see a coach return to a club after previous glory, they dont last long, normally due to poor resluts...

Either coach quits because he was expecting the same feeling from the Gory days, and doesnt enjoy it...
Or Club gives him the arse because he is trying to live in the glory days and is doing nothing with the current group...

I hope it doesnt happen at Nuri, but it will not surprise me...

Back to the media side of things....

i think the footy segment on Triple B should be promoted more... Im not sure evryone in the league is aware its on or what time...

Plus with technology as it is, I think there should be a broadcast of match of the day... With around the ground scores (each home team to have a contact on call to provide those scores), then easily they would get an audience, and be able to attract sponsors to the show!
