'rasslin jobbers

Postby Snaggletooth Tiger » Tue Feb 10, 2009 4:18 pm

Ah jobbers, the unsung heroes of pro-wrestling!
Relative nobodies who stepped in the ring only to get seven shades of sh*t stomped out of them
in 'Squash' matches just to put a superstar over!

Back in the old pre 'World Wildlife Fund' days (WWF) of the 80's we had the greatest ham n' eggers of all time
with the likes of
Barry O
Iron Mike Sharpe (claiming to be Canada's Greatest athlete)
S.D. 'Special Delivery' Jones (World record quickest pin by King Kong Bundy in the first Wrestlemania)
'Quickdraw' Rick McGraw
Mr. X (from parts unknown, weight unknown)
A.J. Petruzzi
Gino Carabello
Jose Luis Rivera
Barry Horowitz
Rusty Brooks
'Moondog' Spot
The Conquistadors (tag team)
& probably the most famous jobber of all
'The Brooklyn Brawler' aka. Steve Lombardi

Then when Vince McMahon 'Got the F out' (WWE) we had
The Hardy Boys (early years)
'The Reject' Shannon Moore
Funaki
Stevie Richards
Val Venis (well he IS a jobber nowadays)
The Spirit Squad
& of course from Greenwich, Connecticuit the 'Mean Street Posse' (Joey Abs, Rodney & 'Fat Ass' Pete Gas)

WCW had their fair share of perpetual losers too
'Nasty' Ned Rogers &
'Screaming' Norman Smiley spring to mind...

Are any other total 'mat backs' out there I've overlooked?
GO THE GROWL!!!

didn't he die when wrestling in the ring a year or 2 ago ? (most fans thought it was 'in the act')
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

So many have died recently Bayman .
Watching the vintage series you don't get so many "BIG" wrestlers .By that I mean the sizes like BAM BAM Bigalo ,King Kong Bundy,One man gang, the natural disasters.I know Mark Henry is still around but not many "BIG" boys in the squared circle any more.
And we have lost some very good stipulation matches the "E" just show cage matches in all their guises hell in a cell etc etc.
why not a good old chain match like Flair v Greg the Hammer. And i saw one at an old JPW show not the same I'm afraid.
