if cancelling the 1st day is so unfair, then why in the fixture do we have 1dayers?
it not ideal situation but u will never have a fair competition, cancelling it in the 2nd week is when it becomes unfair for example last match iggies needed i think 4 runs with 6wickets

It needs to be a rule that is implemented for everyone not most of the comp.

I don't think to have different rules for the one comp would be logical do you?

Only a matter of time the inadequatecies of the heat policy was shown up.

Still cant understand why country associations use Adelaides Temp forcast for making decisions and not more local forecasts.

Why dont we all bring in a rule where if the Bureau forecast more than 2mm of rain for Adelaide for the saturday
on the friday evening, lets call off all country cricket as not to inconvenience us by making us sit around umming and ahhing whilst we all could be getting on with our lives (sitting in the pub and doing $$$ on the nags). :drinkers:
Then we would only have to play once every 3 weeks which would suit all those undedicated cricketers out there.

Whats that? Ah yes, i hear all those do-gooders out there saying - It's better to be safe than sorry (probably the same people that drink & drive, dont wear seat belts, use mobiles whilst driving and it's all right to speed a little bit).

Heat Rule???

Postby SummerSport? » Sun Feb 08, 2009 9:39 pm

Who is the moron that thought of bringing in a heat rule for a summer sport anyway?
Is the SFL going to start calling of footy games if the temperature gets below 10 degrees?
Why doesnt everyone sign a waiver at the start of the season saying there willing to play in 40 degree heat?
Its a mans sport thats meant to be played in the summer, whoever thought of the rule go get your nails done again you blouse!

Why would some one die bcos the temp was 42 c and not at 38 c ?

It's all about taking precautions and preparing yourself properly for the days play.
It's just commonsense.

If a batsman doesn't wear a helmet and gets hit in the head and dies, whose fault is it?

How many cricketers have ever died i wonder directly from playing cricket on a day over 40 c compared to under 40 c.

Players taking the field on a 35 c day are still at risk from heat related stress if THEY dont take the proper precautions. It's up to the Individual to take responibilty for their welfare instead of relying on someone else to blame.

i'd suggest that the majority of people for the Heat rule are only social cricketers that pull the pin when it gets a little bit hard.

i will admit that temps up around the mid 40s are probably getting a bit excessive to play in tho.
