Yes BALLHOG is off work at the moment due to the arrival of a baby girl Sophie Ella. Congrats to Ballhog and his missus on their new arrival.

It will be very tame on the forum without his stirring!

It'll be a great contest though. Uraidla will be better this year also.

Yes burch isnt the worst bloke to have as oldest in your side. He and his lego hair should be running around for many years to come.

Lofty pretty happy with their first hit out- went in with a fairly young side with a few B grade players and senior colts from last year (and 2007) stepping up and really looking up to the standard. Lofty looked much fitter and quicker than their opponents and also much smarter and cleaner with their skills. All round a pretty dominant performance against a div1 amatuer side. I agree J Mac looked pretty good in the candy stripes and he was wrapped with the Mt Lofty style of footy. 20 20 is a great way to spend your pre season I reckon, nothing prepares you better for footy than playing the game!

The SHOC v Lofty game needs to be put into context. It looked like SHOC had their reserves playing so it wasn't an A1 side but Lofty did play pretty well for a first hit out. Good to see young pistols kick a bag.

Wood, pistols, j mac looked good, joel brown and peto all looked gud but hard to tell as there were soo many good contributors. DK stevens was captain for the night but woody looks like in good contention 4 the captaincy.

And i thought it was just me, very impressive turnout ;)
Lofty did look very sharp, yes SH didn't have there best side in but having not seen much Hills Footy i was reasonably impressed with the way they moved the ball for so early in the season.

Anyone know if they have many more players to slot back in?

Talking to SHOC runner, they still had a few players to come in but fitness was main issue. From last years team, we only had half our team out there. Some of those out there weren't looking the best either(2 words)!
The comp is used as a trial/hitout, but prize money does spice things up a bit.
We want Vaughn.

I understand that both the SFL and the GSFL are and have always been keen to reinstate the Lovelock Shield.
The sticking point is the Hills League, and the junior aspect of the comp where the SFL dominated for a fair while.

Ex GSFL site.

Any comments???
