"And it took one of the the bowlers in the team to do it."

In other words the keeper did the job the 6 batsman should be doing in this series v New Zealand

But this is a one dayer, most keepers have a bigger role to play than stand behind the stumps for 50 overs, and the fact that he opened the batting means there was far more emphasis placed on his batting than if he came in at 6 or 7.

Anyway, he's out now for a well made century.

He did well, only 28 but the quickfire nature of it is exactly what was needed.

Not only did he score those runs quickly, he was innovative in the way he played. The commentators were saying with a couple of the legside flicks he played, most of the other batsmen so far in the 2 series were trying to blast the ball through point or the covers.

Fergy would just step across to the off and flick it to backward square. Certainly did not look out of place out there today at all.
