Surely they'd be better off with Ferg at 4 and the Hussey's coming in at 5 and 6.

Also WTF is with Haddin opening? Hopes has to be a better option.

19th over overs 0/92
Well done Brad Haddin playing for his team and not for himself 50 not out, and it took the wicketkeeper in the team to do it

If Mick Johnson opened the batting and made 50 at about a run a ball I would have posted
"And it took one of the the bowlers in the team to do it."

In other words the keeper did the job the 6 batsman should be doing in this series v New Zealand

But this is a one dayer, most keepers have a bigger role to play than stand behind the stumps for 50 overs, and the fact that he opened the batting means there was far more emphasis placed on his batting than if he came in at 6 or 7.

Anyway, he's out now for a well made century.

The New South Wales keeper ran out the New South Wales keeper
Haddin run out 109
The first ODI century for Australia since 29th June 2008 when a player hit 126 against the Windies.

NFC who was that player ?

NZ are very disciplined with their extras - only 4 conceded today and out of the three innings so far in this series:

byes: 1
leg byes: 2
wides: 7
Total: 10

Zero no-balls!

And in fact, it wasn't out at all, so you would think he would retain his place for him to play here as well.

Not only did he score those runs quickly, he was innovative in the way he played. The commentators were saying with a couple of the legside flicks he played, most of the other batsmen so far in the 2 series were trying to blast the ball through point or the covers.

Fergy would just step across to the off and flick it to backward square. Certainly did not look out of place out there today at all.
