You do have a sense of humour. Not bad.

Any ins for Waybacks this week or at the very least any signs of a return from the injured star bunch? Would take a massive effort for Waybacks to get to the top of the pile again this year, and after winning one in 2005 is the desire there?

Funny how six months can be a long time in footy, some were tipping Waybacks to go undefeated and I certainly thought they were a huge chance to go back to back. Talking to a club stalwart Saturday night he indicated there may be a fair exodus at the club next year with players moving on etc and they could really struggle in 2007. Thoughts Bluesy.....

no massive ins this week from all reports panther. Probably the youngest side we have put on the park in my memory, and also one of the lightest. (5-6 under 17's) Have heard that the tigers are fuming over what they see as a lack of respect....might be an interesting opening tomorrow.
The B grade is probably the strongest we have named all year....

Might even sneak out to the 'gary this week and have a look at the clash between the top two....my prediction is Rangers by 35 points.
Just having a look at the LS / T sides named for tomorrow in the budget... and seems that LS have named the 'big guns'for the important clash White, Taylor, ANorth, Dazza, AC, Jarvis,S Rynne and Jason E...possibly the first time all have been on the park at the same time....if they all play LS by 15 pts and W by 24 pts.

Waybacks by 24pts!! Are you saying they are some sort of silly chance? I get nervous before Boston games when I know we've got a few out, no one wants to be the first ones to 'legitimately' lose to them.

Postby Midnight Rambler » Fri Aug 18, 2006 10:25 pm

Hey this is my 1st post n i was just wonderin who is that young fella Tasmans has been playin?? he has been startin on the wing n is number 13. i saw him play against marble range n then mallees n he has the hardest attack on the ball i have seen in many years. he took a hit that should have not the young fella out but he just took it on the shoulder ran up the field and took a nice grab so if ne1 can tell me who he is i would be much appreciative

Postby Midnight Rambler » Fri Aug 18, 2006 11:02 pm

yea hey, i dont play footy cos i just never had the skills n i am gettin a bit to old for it now but i am pretty sure it isnt sudsy son cos he is older than the lad i am talkin about, the lad i am talkin bout would only be about 16 - 17. i think this would be his 1st season n hopefully he has many many more seasons to go cos he will be a great player if he keeps goin like he did against marble range and the half he played against mallees.

Rangers & Mallee's played one of the best games I've seen in country footy for some time!! Breakneck speed with clean skills and tough contests. Rangers got out to a 24 point lead in the first quarter only for Mallee's to hit back and late in the third quarter held a 16 point lead. Rangers then fought back and for most of the last term held on to a 1 point lead. We broke the shackles in the last 5 minutes to kick three and claim a 15 point win. Both sides were applauded from the ground by both sets of supporters and a lot of respect was earned. They are the real deal, and had Goldsmith, McNamarra and Billyo out.

Saw nothing regarding umpires!! Did hear MJ didn't take too kindly to Story tagging him and proceeded to remove his front teeth with his now renowned elbow!!

How about this one, Wally has booked his holidays starting second semi week, confident...... :?

And who did you hear that from Panther???

MJ & Tonks carved up Souths in the 1st quarter into the wind and helped set up the win. There were plenty of heavy clashes with the usual suspects involved..Most of them were fine.. To single out MJ again is ordinary.

Agree WCP it was a great game and with the outs for both sides does not at all give anybody a pointer as to what may happen in the finals.
Hope it wasn't young Story that got the facial - good lad
The thing with the unpires that has been alluded to happened early in the day and I believe is being addressed by the league. No more to be said until an official announcement is made by them. One of several problems on the day

What does that mean, there was some that were not fine?

I'm merely raising the question on here, to get another version of the events!! What I heard came from a LS supporter who thought it was becoming quite habitual with MJ. Allegiances can blur what really occurred.....

I like that Panther " Allegiances can blur what really happened"

There were some hard physical clashes and the odd scrap or two but nothing that should have people from either club jumping up and down about....

I didn't hear that Souths players or coaching staff had any complaints. Grocke & Scotty Jarvis came into the rooms after the game and thanked us for the match and wished us good luck in the finals...
And you don't have to be einstein to work out we will need more than luck against Mallees in the 1st semi.

I only saw the third qauter and thought LS were pretty good and were getting on top.... and I was shocked to find out we went down in the end by 27 pts. No height cost us.
No problems with any incidents from the game up at LS, but Story maybe shouldnt have lost his front teeth, one way to get rid of a tag I spose!

I went to Wangary and was appaled at the behavior out there.
Firstly for the rainwtertank to be emptied, the gas bottles to be turned off, the visitors changerooms graffitied with spray paint and then an U12 getting hit in the face when he went to shake another lads hand. Then we move onto the broken windows at the tennis courts and the huge piles of rubbish left behind by 'visitors' cars. The club should write a letter to the league, I wont be going to anymore games where they are playing. boundry umps had rocks thrown at them too, no supply of junior umpires all day. the list goes on.

Scoob, will Tasmans beat Waybacks in the B's this week to keep Mallee's out of second? They were way too good for us on Saturday and our best chance of beating them will be in the GF when hopefully our A's are back to full strength pushing a few back down. We needed a loss to highlight a few glaring deficiencies we have, ie not bloody accountable, but I guess that's just a common trait of B grade.
