Good on BL for trying to get the juniors started again. There was a big ad in the Messenger up here yesterday for the CDJFL, with BL one of the 10 clubs included with all the contact details, so the league is obviously wanting them to succeed as well. Good start.

And I've known Groover for a long time and have seen him play some terrific football over the last 8-10 years. He is also a good bloke off the field, and even if he is getting a small bit of coin to play at BL, it's a good investment on BL's part as he is capable of winning a game off his own boot.

Tough market in that neck of the woods, coaches is what has let them down in previous attempts from what I've noticed. Get some seniors involved.

I think they have a coach sorted for one side...not a player but a previous player at the club

Good to hear mate, no offence, but it was a fair shambles a couple of years back, had some good players that must've got sick of it and left to other clubs.

No offence taken as i had nothing to do with it. I guess we can only look forward and try and improve this in the future.

Hey good luck to you guys. I hope you do go well and these players all stick around. If nothing else you've certainly generated some interest in the club and a lot of people will be looking at your results. I was merely pointing out that when a club gets an influx of more than handy players (which no other club would complain about) it can distort your vision for the long term and you can be back to where you were in a blink of an eye...

I guess our club was fortunate with the situation that presented itself with a coach looking for a job and our coach at the time choosing another position. If you asked the playing group last year if we wanted to keep our current coach we would have said yes..as things had it he left and we ended up with Payne....we were fortunate enough for him to bring some players with him to the club (this isnt unusual as most people would be aware some players build strong friendships with coaches and will follow them). I would imagine if Payne coached at another team they would be having the same discussion over there also.

Personally im glad that he has brought a top group of blokes over with him...apart from clearly having skills they are great to socialize with after training which is just as important in rebuilding a club as having a bunch of blow ins who train and dont hang around to socialize.

I cant speak for everyone at B/L of course but im guessing most people are hoping these guys will hang around for a few years and help build BL into a strong club on the field and a great club to be around off of the field.

azzaisbest - I seem to recall seeing him at training on the odd occasion so he is either keeping himself fit or playing

That all sounds fair enough, but what happens if Payne decides to move on? It's always going to be tough to rebuild a club with only one junior side. That's what I'd be putting all the resources and money into, not on players that will leave as soon as they get a better offer...

Well then we are bottom again and you can all laugh.

heard from a mate that paralowie have recruited rather well apparently 5-6 players from gaza
guessing that would be from gaza c or d grade though.

Who knows what your guys are getting paid...perhaps we should assume that all of your A grade will be getting at least $200 just to get the BS ball rolling along.....

I think Beau is more then happy with his current position within the Lodge...maybe wasn't last year but i think this year we will possibly see a totally new Beau in the Yellow and Black
