- Adam Gilchrist will captain the Deccan Chargers taking over from VVS Laxman (who cried)
- Darren Lehmann will coach the Deccan Chargers taking over from Robin Singh
- Sri Lankas tour of England in May has been postponed, so allowing players to compete in the IPL
- Ray Jennings, former South African coach will coach Bangalore
- Michael Clarke has stated that "I'll definitely play at some stage," he said, "it's just about when.
- Graham Napier, Essex allrounder is in talks with the IPL. Essex shot to fame with his 58 ball 152 against Sussex
- Shaun Pollock will return to Mumbai Indians
- Glenn McGrath will return for the Delhi Daredevils
- Auction day postponed until Feb 6
- IPLs one month trade window opened Dec 22 (Apart from buying or selling contracted players through the trading window, franchises can sign up international players not already part of the IPL through a fresh auction on February 6; uncapped players, who are not centrally contracted to their national boards, can be signed separately.)
- Mohammad Ashaduddin, son of former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin, has been selected for the trials camp of Kolkata Knight Riders on January 6-7
- Moises Henriques (Kolkata) and David Warner (Delhi), Ryan Harris (Deccan) sign on

- English players will be able to participate for 15 days between 10-25 April

I heard this too and it was an excellent point. Symonds, M. Hussey and Ponting spring quickly to mind. Although, Punter's form has still been decent, just not up to his usual lofty standards.

Australian represenatives will be hugely impcated by the probable announcement later this week of the Australian series vs Pakistan in April will go ahead in a neutral venue

The BBC has reported that the few England players in line to secure lucrative IPL contracts are very unhappy with having to pay 10% of their auction fee back to their counties.

Under the conditions imposed by the ECB, any player signing for one of the IPL franchises has to compensate his county for his time away by handing over the set amount.

12 English players have been cut from the IPL's revised list, leaving only seven on the 43-man list for this Friday's auction in Goa.

Steve Harmison and Monty Panesar were among those chopped, leaving only three centrally-contracted players - Andrew Flintoff, Pietersen and Paul Collingwood - in the reckoning.

Ian Bell and Matt Prior withdrew after deciding that they needed a break between the end of the West Indies series and the start of the English summer.

Essex's Graham Napier is close to finalising a contract with the Mumbai Indians but as an uncapped player is outside the auction process.

Pietersen is the highest valued of the seven, with Flintoff priced at US$950,000. Collingwood, by comparison, is a snip at US$250,000. The other four are Luke Wright (US$150,000), Owais Shah (US$150,000), Ravi Bopara (US$150,000) and Samit Patel (US$100,000).

Mark Cameron, the New South Wales fast bowler, could join Shane Warne as a player-coach in the Indian Premier League, with Kolkata Knight Riders interested in procuring his services. Matthew Mott, a coach with New South Wales and Kolkata, has spoken with the franchise's executives about the possibility of recruiting Cameron for the forthcoming season.

South African batsman JP Duminy's rising stature in international cricket was reflected in the final IPL auction list of 43 cricketers. Duminy's base price has been pegged at US$300,000, the most expensive after those of Kevin Pietersen, Michael Clarke and Andrew Flintoff.
The new list has only 43 players - the original had 111 - and includes 15 from Australia, four from Bangladesh, seven from England, three from New Zealand, five from South Africa, four from Sri Lanka, and five from the West Indies.
Each franchise has a maximum of US$2m to spend on their overseas signings in the auction. The bidding for Pietersen will start at $1.35m, while that for Clarke and Flintoff will begin at $1m and $950,000 respectively
