I'll always take my own drinks to cricket whether it be a home or an away game but that is personal choice. It is the responsibility of the home team to provide drinks and ensure there is enough.

i was a spectator drinking a few beers and wanted to break it up with a powerade
i thought people buying drinks is what every club wants?
i suppose thats why he charges for glasses of water, cause he pisses everyone off and needs to look like he has made some money!!

spoke to a couple of Kilburn players and they said that they were being refused glasses of water from the guy behind the bar, he would of sold them one, but Hope Valley still had no drinks for players, drinks only were supplied during the drinks breaks, not between them! absolutely ridiculous!!

Would like to point out that Kilburn were the batting side so most of their time was spent sitting in the shade desperately trying to work out how they were going to score 350 to win. HV does not carry water to be sold it is only avaible by the glass which is given away as required by law for all licenced premises Drinks were taken out for both sides after every wicket so EVERYBODY got a drink every 20 mins or so ;) PLUS, if the Kilburn players had forgotten to bring water, there was a tap about 3 metres from where they were sitting IN THE SHADE not to mention the COLD SHOWERS that were available for them to use

Methinks Kilburn should concentrate on trying to win matches or control the thugs in their team rather than whinge about things that simply are not true!

The service goes in line with the magnificent afternoon teas you get there too !!!!!

Yes I agree that the service can be better but you could say that about most clubs i reckon.

As for Teas, Platters of sandwiches and fruit with cakes as well not good enough for you?

End of rant.

Haha!!!! The first week HV had 1 small bowl of watermelon, 2 small bowl of rockmelon, 2 plates of sandwiches, thats a very ordinary afternoon tea! and the second week it was the same minus 1 bowl of rockmelon! extremely poor!
Well on drinking tap water in 40degree weather, that goes to show your intelligence.

And there was water for sale in the fridge behind the bar and that is a fact.

Maybe that guy behind the bar should look for a different line of work if its too stressful for him!!!!!!!!!

The 'home side' always supplies players drinks throughout the day and ones that are easily accessed, even during the official drink and tea breaks.

You got 2 plates of sandwiches ????
Be thankful !!!!!!!!

As for the bloke behind the bar, well it was a major task to get the TV turned up at the tea break to listen to a major horse race in the spring carnival..
One would of thought we asked for him to carry the TV over to us...

What else do you want? Perhaps some pavlova or some cream puffs? Maybe some caviar? Don't ever play in the lower grades mate. You might starve to death!!

In all honesty that baffles me? The bloke (for all his faults) is a HUGE racing fan and I would have thought he'd have a quid on the race himself! That does surprise me to hear that!

Adelaide morgue is almost full after a spike in sudden deaths, some linked to the heatwave.
The morgue can store up to 72 bodies but usually only holds about 25 at any one time.
On Tuesday, it was holding 71 bodies.
Attorney-General Michael Atkinson said on Wednesday all five forensic scientists and support staff had been working extra hours to perform the necessary autopsies, including those on people whose deaths were heat-related.

Don't let the facts of the risk of exposure to extreme heat get in the way of a good "toughen up" sledge. I guess some people think winning a game of cricket in a very minor comp where basically anyone who bothers to rock up can play in is important. I know because i have played in A1 before and i can assure you i am shithouse.

Obviously played in a SHITHOUSE team then...
Have no idea what era you may have played your SHIT cricket in, but certainly mid late 90s A1 was extremely strong.
May not be quite as strong overall now, but still the premier comp outside of SACA..

Okay, i was a bit harsh but my point is that no-one is playing for sheep stations and players welfare is more important than a game of cricket.

A1 is a good standard but i won't apologise for saying i am shithouse  ;)
