I dont actually remember a lot of the LS players of the 70's (i was born in 72), but i do remember (albeit somewhat vaguely) some of the regulars (club identities) at the club back then eg Peter Huppatz, "Fatty" Hogan, and a few others although being young its mainly nicknames that i remember......also a few coppers who were friends with my dad at the time. From what i can tell, LS is traditionally the side that the police officers play for and support. About the only player i can actually rememeber off hand is Harry Miller, although if i sat down and thought about it i could probably think of a few more.

I take it you're a LS supporter grub? If its ok, i'll send you a PM and go into a bit more detail about my memories of the 70's with the LSFC.

Have heard Waybacks may rest a heap this week and play B graders in the A's. Wonder if Mallees' are considering this too, would be handy to have a rest the week before finals start i would imagine.

what a supurb night it was for training, blistering cold and rain, perfect conditions

EU will be resting a few more this week just to make sure we're fresh for the first final, seen as how it is likely that we will be playing lock 2 weeks in a row both at ungarra (unless lock beat us by 12 goals and yellana beat ramblers by 12goals)

out for us this week are zac christian, andy story, ryan modra, ben schramm, matt schramm, mark fraser (unless comes really good satty morning)

so we're a bit undermanned this week but i still expect a tough hitout, lock are at full strength so they will go in very confident to this game!

Reading Bluey's previews you don't even need to read the first sentence to know who he's going to tip. He's been on the Pecker bandwagon for weeks now so that tip was predictable. If Souths needed to beat Mallee's this week to make finals, I know who he'd tip!!

My tips

Rangers 20 pts (If we play to a disciplined plan of getting numbers back quickly when they gain possesion our backline will make life too hard. Several options for Barry including Jarrod will limit their scoring)

Souths 30 pts (If Bostons kicked 12 and only lost by 10, opposition is shot!!)

Waybacks 60 pts (will be a slog early before over running them)

Yes wasnt the GMs preview outstanding, has only tipped against LS twice this year ......so fair chance they were going to be the tip. For the GM to mention that Andrew North could possibly be playing is total mind games, maybe he could have mentioned Brett Chalmers playing too, did he mention Guy Bagshaw who trained Tuesday night?.
Your tips look pretty spot on to me WCP.

Yes WCE ... look in your crystal ball and give us all the answers. Whats going top be the X lotto numbers tonight.

Hasn't he been training pretty well for the last 4-6 weeks? I'm expecting him to play 1st semi, and given that its a 'must win' game Saturday i wouldn't be surprised if he played. I don't really know the details of his injury so i could be wrong (again).

AN has a soft cheek bone and I am sure Jamie Sellen and the boys will test him out if he plays.

Not brave at all - simply logical.

Can Souths beat Rangers, Waybacks and Mallee Park in the next few weeks? Can they win the Grand Final ?

Let me consult my crystal ball.....

I'm not saying LS should give up - I doubt they will - but why not start planning for the next season so that they can beat more teams, be in the final four and take out the Grand Final ?

But you're right - what a stupid idea ....

rumourmill - souths Sam Kidney is getting married on Saturday and souths have 8 A graders out going to it.

Not an exclusive OL I saw Mick Bilney in it at the nightclub last week.
