Very Modest plugger12, but have you actually seen Shaun Elletson Play? Maybe you should get out more and catch him in action. This is only my opinion plugger but in all the years ive been at Plympton shaun is the best we've produced. Pity he'll be playing at Millicent this season. Maybe you should book yourself Rex Airfare down to the South East and watch him play. Then your opinion will count plugger12???

MP, there were a number of other top players at Salisbury in the same era as Barry Pilgrim - most of whom could have played league footy but opted to win 4 premierships in a row at Salisbury (68-71), one was Neville Thorp (League umpire).

Add to the list: Stephen Hay (North, 1980's), David Green (Central 1980's/1990's I think), Mick Walters (Central 1980's - about 10 minutes of the most explosive footy I have ever seen!), Ian Deraugo (Central 1980's), Mark Prior (Central A **** long time).

Like MP, I cannot remember them all.

Mick Walters also played Agrade at Loxton as a 15 year old and the best I have ever seen and we also had Tony Modra, hbut in case anyone is interested Mick Walters Junior Debut for Freo on Saturday Night was pretty good. Thanks for that post Demons. We were only talking about Mick Walters at footy training last night. Mick is Wilbur Wilson's cousin.
We were also trying to figure out whether the Walters playing for Freo was the son of Mick - you've answered that question!

Mick Walters was one of the most amazingly gifted athletes I have ever seen and I saw him close up as I coached him as an under 10 basketballer at Salisbury years ago were he completely dominated the whole comp. Could have been an absolute superstar footballer.....
