Maybe I'm a goody to shoes or something. The car appeared to a commodore or falcon.why at 16 did his parents allow him to drive such a large car(if it was one) at an age he doesnt have good road sense.

large in size but you will find alot of kids these days drive commodores or other large cars!
I think when 16yr olds have v8's or turbos then there is a problem!

You don't need a V8 or turbo to kill yourself or someone else, it can be done quite effectively in the most modest 4 - cylinder particularly when driven by a young person with a sense of invincibility.

. As Mick said the size of the car is IMO irrelevant as a smaller car is still capable of doing things that can cause injury, or worse. I don't think anyone here cares how the accident occured we would all just like to hear that all the boys involved make a full recovery.

Very good point iron. With all the deaths on our roads I think it is irrelevant how this occured. What is important is the young lad gets the best care possible to recover fully. We have a top class burns facility in SA where he will receive the best of care. Best wishes to you and yours, Trent.

You idiot!!

yep I ma an idiot .and i wont say anymore but i would love to .

But I will point out Friday night I was forced to listen to teenagers around his age .having a great party screaming yelling under-age drinking.Teenage girls screaming yelling and breaking bottles .Car tyres screeching up and down the street.

I may be an idiot and I seem forced to live next to the greatest family in the world.as the parents did the same thing the next night minus the cars.

So yes i am an idiot.
sorry for whats happened

What the hell has that got to do with this topic. We're you a perfect little angel in your adolesence and therefore done nothing that could have caused yourself or others harm. Give it up mate. It's been stated that speed wasn't a factor, if he did do something wrong it will be investigated. Then we'll start a thread on how stupid the youth of today are compared to when mickyj was a kid just so you can rant some more.

But thats off topic .

Yep thats it from me .

Hmm this is getting nasty. I think everyone is happy that there have been no fatalities and recoveries are likely, BUT, if this young bloke is eventually charged after a proper investigation by the police and convicted over this "accident", then I think mickyj deserves an apology.

No apology necessary for presumptions. An apology to the family would be more in order as he is assuming things about them at a very hard time in their life.

I realise that several people on here will be closely connected to those involved one way or another and emmotions will be running high so soon after the event but please try to refeain from resorting to insults and accusations against each other.

You are asked to keep this thread for passing on your thoughts and wishes to the families.
From here on posts of any other nature will be deleted.

If you want to start a 'general' discussion about driving etc then feel free to do so in the General discussion forum..again if it gets personal it will be Mod'd.

Guys this is obviously a very serious and sad event that's taken place ... As WYC said, Im certian everyone on here wishes Trent, his family and his mates all the best at moving forward from this ordeal.

Let's leave other debate and any agression for another time and place, as it's a serious matter ... It's one of the saddest things when something liek this happens to our kids and I hope the young lad recovers well and my thoughts are with him and family.

I for one would like to send best wishes to Trent for a speedy not too painful recovery, burns are bad things to get over. My thoughts and best wishes are with his parents and friends that were with him at the time and hope that things improve and the media and people tone down.
His friends that were in the car were hurt as well as in deep shock, whatever happened after the accident doesn't matter as long as all the young people survive. Things like this happen to young and old.

All the best for a good speedy recovery for Trent and lets hope he can play some sport again soon.
