Only New Zealand could manage to almost stuff that one up only chasing 180 odd. Whats goin on with the WACA pitch, i know it was a slower ball, but that edge from taylor off hopes fell way short of Haddin.
Undisciplined batting has been our problem all summer. Far too much attention placed on an inexperienced bowling attack, and not enough focus on the real problem ... batting.
Not quite as simple as that. Our real problem is retirements/injury and poor team selection. The bowling failed in the tests and the batting has failed on the one dayers and we all know what wins both. Progressively poorer Cricket is the result of the three factors I mentioned above as confidence ebbs away. Once again I a wondering how we can select a teeball specialist to open when we have the Kat in career best form? This monumental blunder is a misguided attempt to create the next Adam Gilchrist. Poor old Warner know doesn't know whether he is coming or going. He should be going....back to the Blues with the Kat to come in.

not quite as simple as that either
if you are talking retirements being the cause new zealand have lost astle, cairns, fleming, mcmillan and bond recently and have much less depth in their state cricket.
on friday night south africa palyed with smith, kallis, boucher, ntini and steyn - probably their best 5 players with pollock recently retiring from the side.
the selections though i agree with quite a bit
