That reminds me of Glenn Trimble from QLD who debuted in a one-day international in the mid-80's and sprayed the ball around like weedkiller.

Do I hear an echo? ;) Go back two spaces.

Glenn Trimble was one I was thinking of ... Poor bugger seemed to get hit by nerves bigtime, was like watching a car crash ... Still feel bad for the bloke, does anyone know what became of him, did he play much 1st class cricket after that?

Shaun Tait. Unreliable! Cant bat! cant field! cant catch! No longer has the zip that got him there! He bowled 5-6 good balls all summer for Australia. Unpatriotic by me....maybe but true!

Another 4 years I think, imagine how his family felt, going to watch a loved one represent his country then bang. I was about 11 at the time and felt like giving him a hug. There's no place to hide when you have the ball in your hand at a packed WACA. I'm sure Allan Border would've made him feel good as well.

Swampy, not true, he is the x-factor that gets other bowlers wickets, Mills was at ease against everyone last night, after getting hit in the Gangulies he didn't want to be out there, same as AB de Villiers, Boucher and probably a few others. He was bowling into the breeze to start with last night aswell.

At the 2007 World Cup, Tait finished the tournament as the equal second leading wicket-taker with 23 wickets at an average of 20.30.

Was it the WACA or the Gabba? I too remember watching it as a kid, I reckon my mum was nearly in tears for the poor bugger

Yes, dud!!
He was bowling with McGrath, Clark and Bracken on at the other end. Tightest one day bowlers in the world, of course batsman are gonna have to go after someone and its ususally the weakest link!!

Glenn Trimble was the son of Sam Trimble, regarded by many as one of the best first class cricketers never to play a test for Australia.

Expalin that to me! I mean he doesnt build pressure and he was one of the most uneconomical bowlers we have had this summer. Why didnt he do that to the top order against Sth Africa? Hitting blokes doesnt make you good!

a bit rough on the Ian Harvey calls earlier on in this thread. the guy deserved his chance to play for Australia. took a lot of wickets at first class level in australia and in county cricket and made fast runs too. the guy always bowled the last 5 overs in the ODI's.

So McGrath was a dud until the latter stage of his career when he finally learnt what that block of wood in his hands was for?
