Had to share this..

Doing a bit of research into 2 great uncles who enlisted for WWI. Knew that one was killed in action at Gallipoli, so dug up all his service records at the Oz War Musuem website. Thought I'd better have a quick look at the brothers records (he made it back ok, raised family etc etc). One of the first thing I see is his Syphlis Record after picking up a dose!!

So whilst 1 brother was rather short of luck, the other evidently got lucky!

One of my uncles copped a GSW to the chest on 25.4.15, another one on 9.9.16 to the abdomen at Mouquet Farm on the Somme, and was killed at V-B on 26th April 1918. He copped 2 doses along the way - good British germs though, none of that Arabic crap

Slightly along the same lines not the clap but in a war.As a teenager I was at the War museum in Canberra .found my Grandfathers name on the ww2 monument .He was not the only guy with the same surname and initials were a few J A in his unit regiment .
Of course as an adult i found him on the website.

OK only a coincidence to me
