Places to have a Function?

Postby Pag » Sat Jan 31, 2009 10:34 am

Got a 21st coming up later in the year and looking for a place to stage it. Anyone had any really good functions at a place they would recommend? Would have to be in the city or north of it though. Had a look at a few pubs and can't really make a decision.

Cheers.

Glenelg function centre at the footy club - we need some cash flow ;)

See if you can do a deal with the Mawson Lakes pub - including accommodation. They're sponsors, aren't they?

The footy club and Mawson Lakes Hotel are obviosuly both possibilties guys (and may well be where it ends up), I wouldn't mind the club or a sponsor making the money over the bar, I'm just trying to broaden my horizons a bit. I tend to spend the majority of my time at both of those establishments... :)

I know its not in the city but its the closest SANFL club to the city! West Adelaide have spent serious $$$ on their facilities and have quite a happening room for that type of thing!

In North Adelaide the Welly and the Banque are good. Ox no good, the function room upstairs is split into too many areas makes it feel like no-one is there. Archer is expensive. Haven't been upstairs at the British but that should be alright. Catacombs at the Lion are good.

gday pag, ive just had the 21st times where all my mates have had theres! best place imo is the hyde park tavern, quality spot, good balconys etc, had 3 there and had a great night on all 3 occasions!

the top room at the astor is also a good place, amazing food, but shocking aircon, it was bloody boiling up there! also had one at the riverside rowing club and the adelaide rowing club and loved them both! good to give your money to a smaller type establishment rather then a pokie fueled hotel!

How about my next door neighbours house.Friday night their eldest son had a party girls screaming music almost raising the roof on my house.Saturday night the parents had a party women screaming etc etc.

Pretty sure it would be cheaper than a hotel

The Tower Hotel Magill, has a good sized private room, complete with a flatscreen, say for phtos etc. I'm pretty sure the room is free, at least it is for meetings I organise from time to time. One of my mates held a 21st there for his son, it is a good venue for 50-70 people.
