I have heard that Tanunda have pretty well signed up Nick Schmidt for this season and he is trying to get work here in the Barossa and that they are also interviewing another lad (no name yet) but at this stage that is all they are chasing. Good numbers at training already, obviously called off this week due to the heat but the boys are certainly looking fit.

Berrett Joshua - Sth Clare
Crampton Troy - Virginia
Moore Joshua - Eudunda
Schutz Adam - Sedan
Treloar Grantley - Cogdogla

Don't know much about the above list however I am fairly sure they have signed an on baller from Tea Tree Gully who lives in Gawler. I dont want to tell you his name just yet because if i am wrong i will try to get him out with us.

Josh Moore son of Terry 'Buck' Moore - Nuri, Central Districts, North Melbourne, Hawthorn. Grandfather also known as 'Buck' played for Port Adelaide and won Mail Medal at Freeling. I think he was after Olly's time at CD under age, but he would have known of him so perhaps Donnybrooks missed out. Nuri certainly have.

There are a few ex Donnies here at Hamley including our captain.

Macguire and Macereth may not be superstars but they are top quality blokes and will be very handy in our league. The attitude of "Willaston wont lose sleep over those losses" sounds exactly how the club is approaching things these days. This attitude cannot be good for the club in the longrun.

As an ousider You have to wonder what is happening inside goodger park. Why are these guys leaving when they have been at the club for 12+ years? And by the sounds of it, these lads are not the only ones that are not enjoying playing for their beloved Donnybrooks anymore.

There was no mention of the blokes characters on this thread. I appreciate youre on the defensive but there's not point slinging mud at willaston about my post.

4 years of poor results and 2 coaches doing work experience it is no surprise some blokes want a change. Willaston can't change the past and they should open up the door for anyone that isn't up to doing what it takes.

Its a supporters view but we're used to success at willaston and its time to push the sh-t to one side and get on with it.

If i recall there was mass exodus in 02 when occonnor came on board, in 03 the A grade pantsed the competition and lost the GF to no other than Seelanders Angos. There's more talent around now then there was in 2002.

Obviuosly Hamley Bridge did not Watch Greeny play at Ardrossan last year.

Appears the current Hamley coach has poached some stocks from his old mentor. One would assume that he will be scratched from his christmas card list for this year  . They have always struggled for a gun recruit out there.

Hamley picked up Craig Harvey a couple years ago, and if you ask him he would tell you he was a gun recruit, and also Beau "the sun" Byster was more than handy. obviously Craig Harvey has now gone back to his home club for $500+ a game so it is hard for little hamley bridge to compete with that. Burns the footy to much for my liking anyway,

good luck to Beau on his comeback to A grade football from his knee, very classy footballer, but shouldn't think about too much.

I'll second that Francis Gilbert Hamley, HBFC will be more than happy to welcome all those boys with open arms, They will be all quality footballers in the APFL.

I know you didnt mention blokes characters....I did !! It is very important to a club also.

I hope you guys do get back to your best and sort out whatever the issues are within the player group.

I just think you guys can ill afford to keep losing quality blokes while retaining some that are not so...

But if you know of any more lads we can have....I would be happy to give you my number :D

Big call saying some blokes at willaston aren't quality blokes, but outsiders are entitled to say what they like right or wrong.

Perhaps it is.

But I guess we will see if you have infact "pushed the sh_t to one side". Or just kept it in the middle.

Schmidt is a great lad... can play too. Handy pick up for Tanunda. Not sure if the netball follows the football out there but if it does may I suggest the Tanunda Netball Club recruit his Mrs!

I see that Ian McMillian has put a clearance in to Freeling from Balaklava (obviously took the job offered to him), however does this mean that Ben Parish will stay at Freeling as I believe McMillian was the draw card for him to go to Balaklava

it would be good to a list of players who played senior colts football at willaston and tanunda from 2000 to around 2004, and who is playing in their respective A grade teams. From 2000 or so onwards, both were the team to beat in the under 17s. i have to say tanunda did win the flags for that period but willaston was runner up or 3rd for the same period..?? just something to think about if tanunda still have these players, what are they doing differently?................. oh well.........

schmidty....
can't speak highly of the bloke! i reckon he played res' at West Adelaide, then moved on for a few years at Murrayville, Mt Compass but originally from Robertstown (or somewhere near there!).. classy 6ft 1, smooth moving left footer! I thoroughly enjoyed receiving deliveries from him! he'll be an assesst for sure!

I guess to keep a gun like Ben Parish it is worth signing a disliked bloke whom is hated by all his past clubs

Whether by people from Mallala, Balak or any club.

But dont know the guy personally myself.
