That was a fair view of where the game is IMHO. I understand why you guys would still be confident but i can see that westminster would be confident as well.

We train Wednesdays and Thursdays normally - Wednesday was only really attended by As and Bs and only the bowling machine was used since both teams are batting this week.

Last night's was cancelled.

What are the odds we'll be playing tomorrow? I have a suspicion it'll sneak down to a forecast of 39 and we'll be playing.

I would love to see a forecast of 39 for tomorrow but i think it is unlikely.

I attended training last night all be it for 2 minutes but both Tuesday and Thursday the A's/usual suspects were at it full swing. With Macca runnning the show there is never a night to hot for cricket. I can say that 10 Sheidow boys (Joz wouldnt) will be keen to get out there tommorow regardless of the weather but unless something drastic happens its a no go.

No training at the youth centre last night. Far too hot to train. If we say 40 is unsafe to play in then 42 is certainly to hot to train in IMHO.

40 has been the forecast all week and I suspect if it is going anywhere it will only go up.

What time at Westies for presos then bloods?

So who suffers and who benefits from the games being cancelled? I think we would be rather disappointed with a far stronger balling attack and runs on the board we were confident we could ball Ramblers out. I was thinking today would ANA be happy with what will happen or annoyed that they miss the outright (if they were to get it) I guess they only get the 6 points for 1st innings or do they get 9? Silly if they do.

Below is what i think each team would be thinking about the prospect of playing/ not playing saturday.

Very interesting season RB i agree. We will feel as though sharing the points with Nth Haven isn't what would happen if we had played on saturday. For glenelg, well things are falling into place for them nicely it is only half a game that they gain on the field but it will make their task of making the finals that bit easier. Plympton and Sheidow will consider themselves unlucky as they have both posted very competitive targets for the sharks and ramblers to chase and the keswick v westminster is in the balance so neither side IMO could say they were a certainty to win that one. Mitchell Pk and South Rd well roadies probably are in the stronger position here and the points could be vital to decide who will indeed finish bottom.

If any team is upset by the cancellation of play they need to get over it.

The rules are in place and the executive consulted all the clubs before making a heat policy and then before they revised it.

If it so happens that a team who is well on top does not get the points,or an team well down gets 3 points for nothing it is all about player welfare and that should be the main priority on the mind of all captains.I know it is for me.

I come out to enjoy the game, the mateship and the competition of the sport. For mine,in 40+c two of those are gone. The mateship remains but the overall enjoyment of the day coupled with the potential for one or more of my team to fall ill means I back the heat policy 100%.

Now,dont get me wrong,I used to be of the theory "harden up",but extra years (and kg's) have made me think more about what it means to play Div 4 hard wicket and it certainly isnt worth risking any ones health over.

I agree booney and although i am secretly hoping for a 39 degree forecast players health is paramount and that is the reason we have such a policy in place.
