He'll probably plead insanity and go to a mental institution and eat steak and play pool & ping pong every friggin day.

I don't disagree with the sentiment LL and i am not one in favour of capital punishment but what is an appropriate punishment in such a case? It pretty much seems at the moment you can do anything and say you are insane and get a relatively lean sentence. I don't know the answer by the way i am just asking the question. I'm not sure there is a good answer.

No doubt. I could cite many instances of "justice" in this state over the past couple of years that beggar belief. The seemingly obvious one in this case would be incarcerated in an appropriate institution at the Governor's pleasure. Mind you an overhaul of the judiciary in Victoria wouldn't go astray either.
