33.5, 24th of January 1982. 34.7 was recorded at Parafield Airport the same night, and as far as I know, the Australian record is 35.5, at Arkaroola, on that same evening.

Actually Sabre it's surprisingly common for fire bans to coincide with flood warnings. The most common month for floods is February. I actually monitor a lot of stuff like this and I can think of two other occasions when total fire bans have coincided with flood warnings, and the BoM only started issuing flood warnings as alerts 2 years ago in Jan 07.
