You should try some of those new " Cool Skins " They have Ice Gel pads around the crotch area for those who don't have the balls to train in the heat!!!

May be testing the waters, but if he is moving to the Devs it is to win a flag and not for coin; none has been offered to him. He approached us not other way around.
We want Vaughn.

Can anyone clarify the situation with Josh Contin in 2009. There's been different accounts of where he'll be playing in 2009 - todays Courier has an article on Adam Klun where it suggests that Contin may be moving on from Onkas.

Has he been out to pre-season training ? Will he be with Onkas in 09 ?

How does this raise the issue of club loyalty..... he has after all played over 100 A grade games for the roos, even when he has been living in town for the past 5 years. thats pretty loyal to a club in this day and age and only at age 25...... He has probably had many offers from other clubs (and more money) in that time but has stayed at the roos.[/quote]

GTP, everyones idea of club loyalty will differ. Mine obviously involves more work to earn than yours! In terms of offers from other clubs, any half decent A grade footballer (& some not so good  ) will get an offer thrown at them. IMO a club loyal player will listen to those offers but not act on them.

J. Netschitowsky rumours are just that ... rumours.

Think a few sides didn't train at all. Common sense really, can't gain anything training in those conditions.

Dunno about comments that there is nothing to be gained by training in the heat, however smart tactics need to be employed, totally agree... basic skill training gave you an equivalent workout in that sort of temperature, just kicking & catching got you panting!

About 20 on the track at the Thunderers last night, modified warm-up, no hard or distance running, all done pretty much between 40-60% capacity, all skill work related & done in the shade where possible.

Smart coaches will apply this sort of tactic if they know what is good for both training numbers in the early months, as well as player welfare.

So tell me, 2 Old 2 Slow, who are the new recruits at the Thunderdome & what are their talents like? Who's stayed & who's departed ways with the Thunderers. :finga:

Training attendance of my own has been limited, so only a couple of new faces that I know of... young fella from northern areas & another unknown... both promising from what I hear, do not know names... wouldn't go blabbing them on here anyway, long time before the first bounce mate.

Definite departures that spring to mind are only Exelby (greener pa$ture$) and Widdison (retired/married)... both were rapidly ageing & better off out of my way anyhow, I was planning on making a dash for both of their spots whilst i am still young  ;)
