According to spellys list of hot days 45.7 ranks third behind two days in 1939 45.9 and 46.1. Glad i am only young.

It would be the hottest day recorded at the Kent Town station. That opened in 1977 and temperatures before that (1887-1976) were at West Terrace.

We might get the record minimum temperature tonight - forecast to be 32; record is 33.5. I've never seen a minimum low forecasted to be that high before.

If you want to know exactly where the Adelaide temperature is recorded, it's in the white box in this picture.

I was thinking the same thing. When it hit 45.7 i was hoping we'd get that last 0.5 of a degree but it wasn't to be. There's always tomorrow :(

Been following this storm on the BoM site and it seems it's heading towards the Renmark/Loxton area.
Hopefully some much needed rain can hit the right areas without any damage to homes.

Our second child was born 5.00am this morning ... it would have been fun to say he was born on the hottest day on record!

Oh well, he'll have to settle for top 3.
