To be fair, I don't think there are too many on the committee so if Rabbit had to make the call it's pretty tough for him as a Monash president and player to strip the points. Does anyone know what the deal was? Was it put to a vote of captains or decided on by the committee alone?

each club has to have a rep at the commitee meeting, loxton and waik were asked to leave the room while the others voted on it. the real issue is that in the laws of cricket it is not allowed to move a pitch, at least the second days play should have been wiped of all points/stats.

slapper the rule b5.4 states that if the pitch being moved did not affect the out come of the game then a penalty of a fine or a reprimand is appropiate and as both umpires and both captains said the out come wasn't affected, the penalty handed out was appropriate and probably about as harsh as could have been given

Just heard that Rabbit might make an early call on match cancellations on Saturday due to the heat. Not much chance of the forecast dropping to 40 by the look of it.

That's good though.
At least you can do something on Friday night now, without worrying if cricket's going to get cancelled.

Yeah, you're right CN. There's nothing better than when people think cricket will be off, go hard, and then end up having to play.

Almost happened against Loxton, when we thought we were washed out and all went down to happy hour to get into it, before Fridgy rolled up there and told us we were playing at Lyrup. Could have been some sore heads if he didn't let us know.
