Judging by Gibbs' reaction when dismissed I think he didn't know the slip was there!

I know there would be someone to say "it's better to be safe than sorry", but everyone knew that was out.

Horrible bowling and fielding by the Aussies. Johnson was rubbish. Hauritz shouldn't be playing for Australia.

It's not a game for bowlers. Blame the middle order batting. With the start the Aussies had, they should have made well over 300.

Aussies are still very over rated

By whom? Anyone who knows anything about cricket understands Australia is in a redevelopment stage, and that the South Africans have the wood on the Aussies at the moment. The fact they are still being competitive is a good sign for the future of Australian cricket.

By the bookies and punters who insist on betting on the Aussies at $1.50 and giving SA anything up to $3.00 when its quite clear whot he better team is 8)

REB's report

Punter won the toss and the wicket looked full of runs. This was soon confirmed by an under pressure Warner who got away from the Proteas with a scintallating 69. Marsh played the supporting role and managed to knock up 43 despite playing some really ordinary cricket. Punter took the batting powerplay early and cashed in with a flying start after Steyn sent Warner back. Aussies 1 for 120 after 20 overs and looking smooth my good man. The next thirty overs saw some great slow bowling from Botha and Duminy and some horrible slow batting from David Hussey and James Hopes. Aussies finished up with 270 when 300 appeared to be there for the taking.

When the Saffies batted Amla got run out but Gibbs and Kallis carved into the bowling, reaching 1 for 120 off twenty odd overs, a little earlier even. Mitch Johnson got Gibbs out and De Villiers and then Duminy followed. Aussies looked a good thing. Kallis was the key and Tait took the big wicket. With the game starting to do a Hobart Albie Morkely came out and hit 40 runs off 20 odd balls to swing the match.

The Aussies got bowled out and the Saffies had a few overs left in the end. Our middle order couldn't hit full tosses from Duminy and donkey drops from Botha and we dropped the match. A new Simon O'Donnell is desperately needed in a team of Micheal Bevans.

Spot on. Making 270 after being 1 for 120 after 20 overs is a hanging offence.

Terrible batting performance by Australia.
After the start that Warner and Marsh got them off to 330 was a par score - South Africa proved this by making the runs with 4 overs to go - yet they've fallen well short of that.

Don't know what it is with us. Traditionally when we get off to a 'flyer', the middle order come to a stop and bat at a slow pace - why is that? Is it cos they think the job's already been done'?
