Tongue in cheek mate, there are a few & some some good one's amongst them. Hogarth springs to mind. Give him the job while he has experience around him to help him get used to it eg: Raidis & Bell. Then he should make a good skip for years to come. He would have to kerb his lip tho.

Very true Hogarth seems to be a natural leader, and probably could fill the spot very well

there is no way anyone can captain and pesident a club but lets be honest downs needs the captaincy to get a game these days so unless hes on the selection commitee or lost ten years in age he better concentrate on the gate keepings to pay dents wage and run around in the twos and bag all the players like the rest of the so called commitee and loser fans who are living in the past when tailem could actually win a game and had at least one local who could kick over a jam tin and doesnt work at bedford industries

Downs will keep the job.

But plently of young leaders out there at Tailem. Hogarth loves the club and would make a fantastic leader. Anthony Gregurke is another one, very professional and played at the club all his juniors.

i personally guarantee downs will not get the job hogarth couldnt captain the popeye down the torrens and who is gergecke obviously never done anything of importance as ive never heard of him .you must be joking about fitzgerald worst call ive ever heard on here and sore someone suggested hogarth while people like raidis and bell are there ive heard they didnt train once for the whole season and rolled up at 215 and only stayed long enough to shower and fill there wallets after games and would have spent five dollars for the season over the bar so probably wouldnt teach many leadership qualitys just how to make a quickbuck

adelaide bank you seem to have nothing but bad words to say about a lot off people I think you are the sort of person that has achieved very little on the sporting field and all you can do is bag others because they are getting off their arse and having a crack even if their best is not good enough the guys that have fronted each week over the last few seasons when all the recruits and some local players turned their back on the club should be congratulated as it would have been easy to give up how would you know half as much as you pretend to know about tailem or you just one of these recruits that promised the world and delivered nothing and left as a under achiever please fill us in ???????

fair comment i agree people should be congratulated for sticking around when times get tough not bagging locals for that just calling it as i see it.The measure of a good club is a club that can recruit players but then make them feel welcome and at home at that club so they dont just play for money this is something tailem have failed at miserably by throwing rediculous amounts of money at players that arent that good (yes myself including) but why would they say no to the money . i personally would rather struggle with average players playing for the right reasons then throw money at blokes playing for the wrong reasons eg bell raidis robertson make the recruits feel more welcome and they will be loyal and stay for longer not just easy money

AB there is 1 thing that will keep recruits around at your club and that is success. Tailem during the late 80s and through the 90s were successful. 5 premierships in 9 years shows that. During that period Tailem had good colts sides and colts that were good enough to step into the A grade side when they were to old for colts. There were about 6 to 8 guys that played colts together at Tailem all went on to play A grade footy together. Over the last 3 to 4 years in my opinion Tailem haven't had those colts. But what i saw last year and what i am hearing for this year Tailem's colts may be the surprise team and play finals footy. If this is the case and they are good enough to make the transition to A grade footy after colts and with good recruiting Tailem will be a force again.
