For those of us not in the know... can you shed some light on this stand up blokes background??

The story that Roodog posted was same as i had heard. I think he came from Darwin and had been played up in the N.T. I dont know or want to post his name. All in all most football clubs from year to year get burnt with players and poor behaviour eg Ellis at South Gawler, Red Barnett at Centrals, Kennedy at South, young Brooks for us, It happens. Not to say it is right.

Interesting that you post other names up DB, however are reluctant to name this person in this instance. Not sure what this is telling me? Interesting that you relate all those blokes behaviour to a person who is currently in the slammer?? You might need to be careful about slander and the like...

NO, I also posted that I dont know his name, and I don't know the full story of the incidents with the other players named, However i do know that clubs have challenges with players behaviour,

Certainly all true about the pub incident. The car was found at the Keswick railway station and then a few days later the publicans credit cards where being used in Tasmania. Obviously a completely lovely block who would have fitted in well in this comp.

Big call coming from a Port Magpies supporter! LOL!

Seriously though, in my dealings in and around the BL&G, I've found most blokes are straight up. You don't get too many at all of the type Freeling has just experienced.

On another note, how is Willaston's recruiting going Don? Have heard some outs, but no ins yet.
What about at South Edgar and Tex? A mate there says one of the recruits mentioned in the Herald (Vandenbergh and Broad) hasn't actually signed.

If your right casey is good pick up, he's a quality player and a better bloke.

casey, norsworthy and the bakers in the centre circle looks good for willaston.

Haven't heard of Casey but the other 3 are very good players!! Let me know if im wrong but Willaston are not after onballers they need blokes that can kick goals. There midfield was as good as anyones last season but they finished out of the 4!!!

Spot on MM,

If Casey is an on-baller, all he will do is replace C McLean (3rd in the medal last year)...
It doesnt solve any of Willaston's problems!

Didn't Ben Casey (aka Vince Edwards) play for Freeling a few years ago? Does this bring Mills back into the picture? As for the NT import, you'd have to have some concerns about a bloke who quits his club mid season, surely they spoke to someone about him. That he went to Tassie instead of back to the top end possibly indicates he wasn't wanted there either.

The NT import indicated that he left early to go back to Victoria because of a bereavement in the family, and said that he would come over early in the new year, rather than go back North. Quite a few guys up there leave at Christmas and dont go back if they are from interstate apparently. All his references checked out, he had no record, but it was found out later that he also cleaned out 3 team mates he was living with in Darwin. He's running from something I reckon, he would of been better off money wise keeping the job.
As for Mills, he's gone to Longies I believe, so out of the Casey picture, could of jumped somewhere else by now though

Valentine is definitely staying at Kapunda. My man says he has moved into the town and will play as a local this season. Chip Greenwood (Eudunda/ Key postion) a certainty also for the Bombers.
Read about Jarryd Cole (CDFC) coming back to Willaston in The Bunyip. Will be handy as a tagger/half forward this season, as he may not break into the Donnies' midfield as yet. Maybe in a year or two.

Hey Sunbowler,

When will we know the date of round one, I hear the special meeting go up but what is the date of the meeting. What is the general thought of most clubs.

Agree Roodog, Cole more of a good 1/2 forward who can take a catch, can't see him spending to much time in the middle,

It would be a disgrace if the start date the competition changed now, clubs have already made their plans, organised pre season and trial games based on 18th.

Cole played CHF for CDFC reserves and won the U19s BF 2 yrs ago.

To play CHF in the reserves and than to be dropped is interesting!!!!
Also winning the B&F ONE may have thought he would have a future.... Any news on him or did he just quit!!!!!!!
