couple of quick questions
who is the coach of the meyer shield team?

is big hodgey, houston and kinnear alrite to play cause i would have them better bowlers and batters than bubner, ritter and mcivor and they should of been in there before these three anyway if there keen to play

Is there a actual reason the porties boys dont want to play or was it they werent interested like u said smithy?

One day games with two day rules whats deal with that?

also all the best to big comer lets hope he makes a speedy recovery

There are a couple of reasons but the main one I think is that the lads just enjoy the time off.
7-8 years ago port had 4-5 lads regularly in the squad but a few got injured during the meyer weekend and thought it was just better to rest the body.
A case in point is Brad Nicholas who got injured bowling in a meyer shield match 7 ? seasons ago and his ankle hasn't been the same since, despite 4-5 operations.
I can't really answer for them but I'm pretty sure they just enjoy the time off.
Fitting Nicho, Boes, Shorty and possibly AJ and liston into the squad would surely make it stronger, but the lads just don't want to put their hands up.
When was the last time the best XI from the SCA played meyer shield anyway ?

Good work mate but with the injury to Comer how do you see the odds changing?
Also the top 3 sides fair call but I think Seaford at $9.00 more like $25.00

You boys have money to burn? $-)
And agree Boes having a good year but keep your eyes on Jimmy Edwards and Juniour Scarfe with the runs remember he missed most of the start of season due to injury.

Also noted the big score last week by S/R was that played at Seaford??

i think u will fine a few of the porties boys have a ex teammates 40th to go this sat nite which rules of few of them out of the meyer shield team, the seaford game wouldve have to been played at the postage stamp size oval the paper said 20 sixer's and 30 fours it's only singles fours and sixer's there

No just will enjoy taking your money :D Scarfey aint got a hope in hell. Too busy dancing on a friday night, to run on a saturday.

And yes the Seaford match was played at Seaford. Mind you, both teams have the same amount of overs to capitalise on the small pitch. Obviously Seaford bowled much tighter than Kangys

Agree Cooky can hit a ball.
But dont tell me that oval is ok!!! my backyard is bigger.
Keep playing there and you will have plenty of records set. Batting and Bowling and I know I raised it before and you all had a sook but you guys get to play on it for half your games and others 1 or 2 times and personal scores are in favour of the batter agree???? Now im not sooking just stating fact. :)

I believe that there should be no A grade games played at Seaford until they find a knew oval or get the other one up to scratch. The boundary is too small, and part of the boundary is a concrete path.
