What a disgrace, Mr Rudd decides to give a Christmas Bonus of $1000- per kid to "boost the economy", oh yeah but it is means tested so half the kids miss out. How is that fair?
What makes someones kid more important than the other? I thought this country was the fair country and we are all equal?
Obviously not, a cheap political shot 12 months after the election now the honeymoon is over to keep families pro Labor.
Discrimination of the highest order........

And is the problem the package or the pokies?

Roughtly doing sums. You want to make them public
Anyway the problem is probably both.
The money should probably be used to sure up major projects and atleast keep that section viable, would save a few more jobs at least.

If we dig up some comments from som Safootiers we will probably see plenty of posts about he pokies being the big winner from the stimulas package. Which again proves that the money perhaps didnt really go to the right people. Im pretty sure I said something about the highbury doing well from this about a few months ago.
Anyway as I said the money was always going to be headed for that direction. There you go.

Another thing is I hate is how many people rip into the poor for playing the pokies. I personally can't stand the things but it's perfectly fine for the rich to pump their money into the stock market. The stock market is just rich man's gambling. It's fine for the rich trying to make themselves even richer but not for the poor desperately trying in vain to move up into the middle class.

Are you serious? comparing the stock market to pokies is a stupid comparison, cant see my super fund investing into pokies![]()
The point of the Govt saying spend it is surely against what they want to achieve long term and that is to have everyone self fund their retirement, if they were thinking long term they should have encouraged people to save it or give their super a boost.
PLus I think we are getting away from the main point of this, the $$$ was given cause you had kids, dare I say it should have been spent or saved for their future?
