Kangarilla (i.e. Thorpes) are always there. Kersbrook might have some players making the trip, but nothing confirmed yet.

I think you'll find that Kangarilla won the B-grade in 2005 & A-grade in 2006 and produced the bowler of the carnival in 2005 and various members of the Lencia XI (team of the carnival) over the years.

The record for the most amount of Thorpes to play in a single Willowfest game is 5.

Looks like '2005 Player of the Carnival', Andrew Frohling is rounding up a team of players from the Fleurieu region which may include '2004 Player of the Carnival' Ryan Hunter, '2007 Bowler of the Carnval' Paul Farrin and 2007 Australian Country Cricketer Ben Walters.

There's no argument - I didn't say Kersbrook don't have some guns I was just pointing out that Kangies have picked up a few chocolates over the years. Sure it's not a 1kg box of Favourites but there have been a few Caramellos along the way.

Adelaide Hills Cougars couldn't win it without Razorback in the side. Had to settle for 2nd place in 'A' grade.

Kangarilla had two teams. One bottom in Cup Grade and one Bottom in 'B' Grade.

Maybe next year for the S.A. teams.....

It's on again gents for 2009!

THE WILLOWFEST AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY CRICKET CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS is an annual event held in the beautiful rural city of Mildura nestled on the banks of the majestic Murray River, in north west Victoria.
2009 marks Willowfest's 32nd year!

The Championships which have been running for over years, are conducted between the 27th and 30th December. Cricket teams from all over Australia come to the vibrant holiday mecca of Mildura to enjoy the summer weather, play cricket on first class facilities and vie for the largest prizemoney purse offered for a Carnival of this type in Australia.

Controversial Australian Cricket Legend Rodney Hogg has agreed to return for this year's Willowfest Australian Cricket Club Championships.

Hogg proved a big hit in his role as Ambassador for the Championships last year and his return should add to this years Championships, particularly after Hoggís recent stint to the United Kingdom as a cricket commentator for SBS during the recently completed Ashes Test Series. He has some great insights into how Australia managed to let the weakest English team ever win the Ashes.

"The Last Hurrah" for the Adelaide Hills boys should prove a very interesting week...
Hills RED DEVILS vs the Jika Muppets should be all consuming (not on the field - of course the hills blokes will shit that in) but nocturnally it could be an interesting match up after the events on the last night a couple of willowfests ago

Kangarilla are off to a fine start with their 'A' Grade demoilishing Marwells Demons 106 in reply to Kangy's 7/244 with Haydon Thorpe smashing 153* n.o.
Kangy's 'B' grade didn't fair quite so well, going down to Johnny Mulga Squad (All Aboriginal team) only managing 111(Lang Creek import Chad 'sippy' Rothe's 40*n.o. being their only double figure score apart from 25 wides  ) in reply to JMSs' 8/172.
