Back to school

Jabbers post in the shits thread prompted me to take this a bit further.

Whats the big deal about friggin contact? It's like gladwrap, impossible to deal with and never does what you want it to.

There was nothing better as a kid than covering your own books.

First with brown paper. Then, cutting out pictures of your favourite band or whatever from magazines and making a collage on the front of the book.

The subject stickers ALWAYS came from the Womens Weekly magazines ;)

Then to finish, re-cover the top with plain se-through plastic.

How did you cover your books as a kid?

Apparantly they make contact that doesn't stick to itself now FC.
So gone are the days where you'd have to buy 3 rolls of contact when you only needed one !!

I don't know if I'm getting old but I can't for the life of me remember what I used to put on my books as a kid :?
I do remember those womens weekly 'subject' stickers though, and the clear plastic :D

My 16 year old daughter has just spent 2 days covering her books with pictures including:
A collage of her friends
A collage of her pets
Butterflies
Oh, and not to forget Dean Geyer
You get what you give....

same here except in my last year of Primary school I worked it out that it was a waste of time. used the plastic book sleeves since year 7 didn't give a toss what was on my books.

exactly, most of the time we used to draw all over our covers and that, so there wasn't real point. We just draw all over our books instead, looks better.

Took me about 2 hours plus....

11 scrap books with cover sheets, name tags & contact
9 A4 books with cover sheets, name tags & plastic covers
2 display books, 2 satchels, 1 art book, 1 carry on thingy, 1 pencil case
4 packets of textas, packet of watercolours, packet of highlighters, packet of lead pencils,
packet of retractable colour pencils, 2 rulers, 1 sharpener, 1 charcoal pencil.

EVERYTHING labelled....

All done & dusted ! Thank god I don't have to shop for that stuff !
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated
