Just because they break through to the big time everyone starts bagging them. It's not the bands fault commercial radio / teeny boppers are running their NEW songs into the ground.

You're as good as your last release. Their current single sounds like Jon Stevens singing Coldplay. Ohhh-waaay-ohhh.

Pfft, by that reasoning Led Zeppelin were as good as In Through the Out Door (or even Coda), which is clearly absurd.

must....resist......commenting............for........sake.......of.........rik e boy...........

Seriously though. Led Zep were a spent force creatively by ITTOD ("Hot Dog" FFS) where as the Kings of Leon are supposedly on the rise creative wise.

Sounds like you're judging them from hearing one song.

People are quick to slam a popular album. I have all their music and this album is equal to the others - awesome. After listening to ALL of their latest album, i don;t know how you could knock it. SOLID rock music. As for his voice, it makes their music!

Oh Crikey, don't make me decide between Coldplay and KOL.
One band makes music that makes you want to kill yourself and the other makes music that is killed. :?

Yeah. Coldplay are great. Their new album has heaps of great songs. Lost would be my favourite. Would be great if they toured in Adelaide

People aren't stupid because they have different musical tastes to you. What a ridiculous statement.
The fact you need to be rude to defend their music says it all as you have no legitimate reasons for liking them but that's what music is all about, people like different bands and singers simply because they do.
Personally I hate them because theyre slow, boring, repetitive and their music is depressing, music to kill yourself by. Im not into morbid music, you may be, that's fair enough, Im not going to be rude to you in return just because of that.
Ive seen the Village People in concert so being "cool" is hardly the motivation for my musical tastes (and I'd assume a lot of others). ;)

Anyway, back to the topic at hand, I liked some of Kings Leon earlier stuff but blame the amount of airplay and the fact bogans love their new album on the reason I can't stand it, I think their sound is definately one that needs to be heard in moderation. If I'd heard their hit singles 3 or 4 times on Triple J and never heard them again they probably wouldn't have bothered me.

I have the Kings first two albums and like them.
I've heard enough from their latest album to know that it is over produced PAP.

Spot on !

I like Coldplay, and have all their albums, and haven't though once about offing myself

I agree NFC, people seem to post how much they hate Coldplay, as if they need a valid reason.

Geez I go through the what are you listening too know thread and half the shite that gets put on there
I wouldn't wipe my arse with, but I don't see a reason to post how much I dislike that sort of music....

It's up to the person's tastes end of story.....
