There will be more blokes rock up to the next one if my 'mail is correct. There are openings for people to step up if they have the desire to play at the next level. So far no Bedgegood, Giglio, Vines doubtful, and from what I hear, we might have to strap Eddie up like Phar Lap to get him to go the journey..

Far be it for me to be divulging the possible composition of an unselected side at this early juncture - that's The Phantom's job.. But I reckon if you start with Marshall and the 2 All-Australians, you'd be on the right track.. Rest assured we will pick the best side from the talent available.

The 2nd half of Tyson's hit was very good and his trundlers are more dangerous than they appear at first glance. Young Pidge worked hard in the heat on a few alterations to his bowling routine. Rob Muir bent the ball both ways and was very good tonight, but the standout for me was the bowling of Adam Gully. Bowled great areas and controlled, at nippy pace, off the wrong foot.. He was probably one of our best 3-4 performers in Melbourne. Still just 24yo or so. He would take a lot of Div 1 wickets if he played there. I bet a few of his teammates from the Championships aren't unhappy he's stuck down in Div 3 with Enfield's A's..

Gulls bowled me quite a few good balls last night, it would be good to see what he is able to do against A grade teams.

Hey check this out.. Flicking thru some fishing pics, I stumbled across this little gem. My first year at the club and this is the premiership side that accounted easily for regular season bully-boys, Enfield, who were led by Marciniak, and included the likes of former District players Oxlade, Levy and a fit, young and very firey M.Briene.

In this team there are 10 Carnival players, 4 All-Australians, 3 state captains, 6 Club Captains and a number of Div 1 award winners (batting, bowling & fielding). It was the 2nd of the 8 in a row.

Beat arch-rivals Tea Tree Gully after batting the first week. Tscharke top-scored with 44, Oldman.D a very handy 20 odd. Janetzki decimated TTG's upper order, claiming a match-winning 6/36.

jeebus some names i havent heard in a while there! ive played with a few of those blokes even though i started after the PV winning streak came to an end.

The only time I think we got to bat together Keefy was in Wollongong against NSW B in a match we shoulda won. Craig Eck', Pete Lambert and JM didn't make many in reply to their 150 or so. We fought out a 4th or 5th wicket partnership before I missed an off-cutter (leg-cutter to the lefty) which took my off stump for 30-odd. I think you made 20 or so that day, looked as good as ya ever did that Carnival, then played one bad shot and got out. Then we lost 3 or 4 in quick succession and in major strife. Steve Briene then played the innings of his life for 45no from #9, but we still fell short. Played our worst cricket against the worst team. Felt good to smash Southerns - and that bonehead Graeme Hole (whatta spanka!) - the last day though, even though you didn't get a bat..
