don't even justify that with a response spintwin!!! but, I will say, there is an embarrassment of riches down at vistas at the moment... look out![/quote]

I wouldnt say that Typo, saw that your b grade lost a heap of wickets on the weekend chasing a low score and your c's arent exactly on top of the world.

Embarassment of over confidence maybe?????

i think it was more in regards to spin twin being part of the top 5. he is usually in the lower order...

to be honest, out batting line up has jumped around a bit depending on who is playing, Jon is usually around number 3 though. I wonder if I'll get an elevation in the order from last time we played.... i think i pissed Rich off that day

I dont think 11 is lower order.

and you should be down there you are just a middle order slapper. :D

I think you will find our B Grade swaped the batting order and our C's played two short and still beat the second side.

  Funny how you remember the 'good' ones, ay?? ;)

Your comment got me thinking about my memorable ducks, and one was a golden gozza first ball of our innings late on the first day of the semi-final between us and Edwardstown (later Plympton) in about '94. Chasing about 130, we fell about 12 runs short the next week, but with 53 overs still to play, we skittled them for not many and required 130 from 20 overs. We got there with about 2 a bit overs to spare. Redeemed myself slightly with 36 off about 16 balls in the 2nd dig. Most amazing finals win I've ever been involved in. We went on to win the GF. 8)

Odds changed for the flag yet in div1??

my call, here and now.

Fitzroy to finish 3rd and play NEK in semi.
Morialta to finish 4th and play vista in semi.

Fitzroy V Vista GF. If heat policy comes in...we settle with rock, paper, scissors

U seem pretty confident about your side come finals time BB!!!

I don't see anyone else on here still crying about the GF last year, from every other div that didn't get to play...
Bet you wouldn't be whinging if you had finished on top! where it appears the team best performed all year ended up..

very confident. our problem has always been incosistency of line up until the last 4 or 5 games where we have a solid squad. to finish top and be awarded the "hallowed div 1 shield" and not play is just crazy...crazy for any comp/div.

of course i am still dirty...... who wouldnt be. Finals is finals, minor rounds dont count for jack in a finals campaign...everyone knows that.

the greatest thing about having that shield is the history behind it. i think 1909 was the first win on there. with something this significant to PLAY for, a game should be played....or a rock off...surely thats in the spirit of the game

id love to be able to train.

a possible gig on adel oval no.1 is up for grabs if we beat suburban, and turf lose. no bigger incentive for me (body willing!!). anyone get a hold of cortisone??

all you slackers should be out there!!! and the association should shout the squad members all 3 beers.....as Doyle did. (god rest his soul)
there was plenty of incentive those days!!

I recall a court case in Florida a couple of years ago where a judge ordered the two oppposing sides to settle by ROCK OFF. Now, if its good enough for the legal proffession, then there is no good reason why we shouldnt be ROCKING OFF more often.

Dig deep BB. A bit of pain is always worth it once victory has been obtained. Show the lads the way.
