Which SANFL club is most likely to follow in the steps of Fitzroy and be declared insolvent?

I don't even want to think about this.

I know a certain club who was one day away from having the administrators in a few years back. That was during the last recession.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

The worst SANFL clubs, are still in much better shape than the worst AFL clubs.

For all of the hype by North Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs' supporters about having turned the corner, having achievable 5 year plans to get to prosperity et al, the accountants' declaration in the annual reports of both is that they would not be able to pay their debts as and when they fell due (i.e. they're insolvent) but for the guarantees on their loans (and/or direct financial assistance) of the AFL. Having had the bright idea of issuing shares to raise funds in the 1980s (hey, it was the '80s), the market value of North Melbourne shares has for a long time been zero (as opposed to the political power within the club that being a shareholder brings).

No SANFL club is in such dire straits. But if they were, the likelihood is similarly high that if a SANFL club were facing bankruptcy/administration, the SANFL would stand by it-- and probably appoint its own administrators to take over the running of the financial side of things until it was sorted out. The SANFL certainly has a big enough asset base to do so without feeling the strain too much-- the potential debts of any given SANFL club are chickenfeed by comparison.

not voting doubt it could get that bad (i know 6 clubs made a loss this year) especially when you get a dividend back from the crows (does port ever pay a dividend back ? :? :? ) at worst i would think the league would bail a club out & work through any crisis a club would have
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

The question isn't "which club will go bankrupt".
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Change subject of poll to "What club would you like most to leave league". More bias voting.

The problem for any SANFL club compared to an AFL club is the game generates more money at AFL level through TV rights while the SANFL don't have that revenue stream to prop up clubs to the same extent. And AFL clubs know that a good season or two can mean big money coming in. perhaps SANFl clubs can't lose as much but they can't make as much either.

Maybe a club in trouble can sell its 11% stake in the Power or Crows to an outside source? Each club also owns football park.... It would be interesting if a club was forced down this track - I hope all clubs survive otherwide we will lose supporters from the SANFL. There are many woodville and west torrens supporters who are lost to the SANFL - we need to keep everyone we can

You would think if a SANFL club ever got to the stage of needing to sell (or try to) their stake in the AFL licenses, then they would be done ... That stake provides them with income which would be pretty vital I would have thought?
