That's a fair turnaround from the calls that Muffy was the best player the HFL had ever seen and would win everything an Ironbank.

We had people saying he'd win every medal on offer even if he only played half the season.

Maybe a wait and see approach is the best way forward for new recruits?.....

Muffy has a big family now and simply couldn't commit to training and regularly lining up for us. Think the missus ruled the roost a bit. Was definitely the quickest and most talented on baller I reckon I've seen when he was on song and was virtually impossible to tag. Unfortunately that wasn't often enough for us. He probably didn't get as many B&F votes as he should have as expectations were so high. Boggy HFL ovals don't suit his footy either. Not sure who would have said he would be best HFL player ever.

..pretty much every ironbank supporter on here said that! muffy was real good when he played against us, but i would have had 3 or 4 of mt.lofty's onballers before i would choose him

Muffy is the quickest player I've seen in the HFL. Didn't get enough of the pill in the games I saw him play for mine. Certainly when he got it though he was very damaging.

Hey all,

I assume most clubs are in preseason mode right about now. I'm interested to hear who are some of the fitter players in your club. What times are people getting for the 3km time trial?

I know at the Roosters whilst Kreigy and McGoo are looking top notch, Danny 'the dog' Jones is carving them up in the fitness department... think doing it at close to 10 min...

who's looking good early boys?

Danny 'the dog' is a beast, no doubt about it, he may well hold down a wing or HFFlank this year in the A's, one of the fittest guys in the HFL, when he was studying sports science a few years ago, he was in a class with Brett Ebert, Danny beat him in the beep test.

Way too much talk on here about Birdwood!!

Is there any news on some of the other clubs we haven't heard much from e.g. Mt Barker, Blackwood, Uraidla?

Uraidla have picked up Down and Daniel Ebert from North Adelaide, Ryan Hunter has returned from Meadows and also Marcus Anderson will be back too. Have lost Staples, Ebel and Chevalier, but i would imagine they will be in with a good shot. Blackwood have lost Bowen to Sturt, Silvy to Pultney and i believe one or two others. Have gained Mccormick from West so also should still be around the mark. Mt Barker not too sure, but id say will be strong as they have good juniors and pretty much always are.

I agree, you Rooster blokes are getting a bit carried away. Sure you've got some good new players and will improve, but face facts, you still won't be playing finals football!

And neither will Lobethal or Bridgewater!

And not sure that Onkas or Ironbank will either!

Gee I reckon Birdwood will be around the mark come finals time. Dont think they will challenge top three but certainly forth or fifth is not out of the question.

Lots of talk about Kriegy however IMO McGahey will dominate and be of much greater value to the side. Wouldn't be surprised to see him take out the medal. Class act and hard at it.

Bridgy have any upside this year or same old story?

Which side are they going to knock out of the top 5 booze? Taking in mind the sides in the top 5 beat Birdwood by between 15-40 goals last year?
