I would suggest not, given games starting at 5. Also wouldnt think that Unley would be sure things to knock off Shoc or Marion in there group.[/quote]

There is no heat policy for the 20/20 comp so all games are going ahead. The excerpt below is from the Turf 20's rules and regulations download from the ATCA website.

Heat Policy
All matches are to proceed regardless of the forecast temperature. This position is taken in view of the short duration of each match.

Did ok, A's chasing 280 odd v SHOC
B's 0/20 chasing 197 v Gepps X
C's lost their first game of season V Trinity
LOB's 139 defeated PAOC 132

There was a few reshuffles on Sat morn but all things considered not a bad weekend.

pretty solid wkend i agree. the A's and LOB's should go close to finals and your C's must be clos to favourites if they have only lost one game?

Was good. Our batsmen got us off to a great start and it was always going to be hard for them after our start. hey started with 9 blokes on the field too which I am sure didnt help. A few of their bats played a few cameos but the sheer weight of runs was too much for them. Enjoyed the game, not a real fan of the concept as I still prefer traditional cricket but enjoy playing in the games I guess. Not sold on it but I think it is here to stay.

The most ridiculous things out of 20/20 rules we are playing are the following:

1. Anyhting over shoulder height (in batting stance position) deemed a wide. Now this is ridiculous as I am sure most batsmen will say that most of those called are genuine scoring opportunities. What is the point of having batsmen going straight onto the front foot regardless knowing they will be able to most likely do so. I chucked one in for good measure regardless it is ridiculous. Over head height standing up yes, otherise it is ridiculous. Jsut makes it more of a batsmens game.

2. We luckily didnt have ot do this as the opposition and the umpires both agrees, but having to bowl 5 overs from one end then change ends bowl another five is ridiculous. We didnt have to do it which is good as common sense prevailed but that is just ridiculous.

Hopefully they can fix these issues to make it all more enjoyable for everyone.

The five overs from one end concept is only a benefit to get through the game quickly otherwise it isn't any good.

Just dont think it is necessary while the light is still is good and we are using pink balls. ATCA shouldnt do everything that SACA is doing.

Some people werent fans of the pink balls either saying htey were too soft and felt like tennis balls especially when batting and catching. I only bowled and fielded them and the did nt seem too bad. I think it is the best available option as red balls may be too hard and will make batsmen whinge more than they already do and no one wants that so pink balls should stay in my opinion.

yeah batsmen hate the pink balls, they are soft and dont come onto the bat well. however for the concept i think they are the best option and are something different which is good. did feel as tho they were easier to pick up out of the bowlers hand which is the main reason for using them

if the 20/20's are during the day why not just use a red ball?? they will obviously last thejourney and have been used in test cricket for years, so i dont see why a red ball (if played completely during the day) shouldn be used

I think the reason the pink balls are used is due to the fact that one of the ATCA's major sponsors is the only supplier of these balls. Hence why they were used. They are something different but you are right the ball doesn't come onto the bat well. The batsman had no trouble picking up the ball at all but they do wear very quickly. I was at the game at Payneham Oval last night at there was not one 6 hit on a good batting wicket. However they are something different and add another dimension to the game.
