I find it ludicrous that the Franger Cup doesn't constitute a first class match. He probably wont play a shield game.

Regardless of what it's called, I think it's stupid. ODI's still have the same classification as test matches.

huh?
Franger Cup= List A
Sheffield Shield= First Class
ODI= List A (and ODI)
Test= First Class (and Test)

If you scored a ton for your country, it is still an international ton, whether it be in the one-day game or test match. I was merely stating that domestic cricket should bear the title "first class" regardless of what the length of the game is, it is still representing your state.

Thankyou for that bit of info RR, I guess it's the ICC's way of keeping test cricket at the top of the mantlepiece. In this case, it would make more sense to have a test match world cup instead of one-dayers.

I am pretty sure they have an ODI World Cup instead because it is alot quicker, to have a Test match World Cup that would take a year.

I'm all for keeping the World Cup (ODI's) but they should seriously scrap the T20 World Cup.

If they left the minnows out they could probably get it done quicker than the last world cup, that dragged out forever.

That is true, but i would probably prefer an ODI World Cup...... but a Test World Cup would be very interesting to watch. :-k

It would be a more accurate way of determining who is the best cricketing nation, unfortunately if it was all at the one country, there would be advantages, it would be good to hold it over a few months and play each other once at home and once away.

Limited overs cricket is a completely different game that is why it has different classifications. Yes Test cricket is the pinnacle but that's not the reason for the different classifications. Limited overs cricket is played under completely different rules so there is no way it can be compared to the longer forms of the game.
