South Africa need 57 off 24.

Would this be the first time (outside the T20 World Cup) that both teams have worn their Twenty20 strips? Normally the away team just uses their ODI strip.

Surely he has to, although Duminy played well also but RSA lost...

Warner for me for sure...

Tait finishes off...

Australia wins by 52 runs...

I'd give it to Warner - fantastic effort on debut. Wasn't just his runs, it was the way he got them - belting them all over the place.

Crowd of 62,148 in the end. You could see right from the get go that they'd struggle to crack the 70-80k figure tossed around during the week.

Anyone batting behind Ntini can't bat.

It was great to see that Tait bowled so quick. He still went for plenty but his ball to Kallis first up and the one that got De Villiers were crackers. Hopefully he can keep that up for the summer.

That was a great performance by Warner no doubt but I've had enough of Channel 9. When they're not pandering to the lowest common denominator they spend the rest of the time displaying their insular attitude as of course nothing in the world exists outside of Channel 9 and the Australian team.

Why were those idiots even talking about Warner's grade side for? He's been playing for NSW for what 2 years now? I know that technically he hasn't played a first class game but let's not sit there and pretend he's come into the side from grade cricket. A few times that absolute clown Mark Nicholas said "he hasn't even played a game for the Blues yet!", umm he's played quite a few actually.

But because the domestic T20 cricket and now the one-day domestic cricket are all on another channel they no longer exist. I've noticed over the summer that they try their hardest to never mention the IPL either (again on another channel) but thankfully Gilchrist doesn't pander to the Channel 9 view of the world and seemed to mention it almost every over he was on.

I know it's a rant but they kill me every year. I get used to watching and listening to other commentators from all around the world and genuinely cringe when I know our international summer is coming up. I've appreciated the odd good comment from Warne but not even he can save the mind numbing hopelessness of Channel 9's commentary team. Even Slats used to be half decent when he'd call games for other networks but they all turn to shit when they get that Channel 9 gig.

I just hope we don't get a double dose of Tony Grieg in South Africa like last time.

Im sorry but Mike Hussey, Rick Ponting[only gets a game as captain] , Sean Marsh are not up to 20-20 cricket
Blizzard, Birt, Bailey, Dan Harris, Reardon[qld] and Hodgey are all natural hitters and better 20-20 players. also Mick Clarke is not up to it either, good batsman with good techniques are almost a waste of time in 20-20 cricket, batters who bat like spastics are better players.

Its annoying to see batsmans averages put up, averages are misleading, the only thing that matters is the batsmans strike rates in 20-20 games, if batters cant smash boundarys then they should not play

I have also posted that Warner is possibly the best 20-20 player in the country, tonight he proved that young bashers are better than good batters

... which is why they should just call it 20/20, and not 20/20 "cricket". Stupid waste of time it is.

Did you watch it ? And if it's a "stupid waste of time" why bother wasting some more of your time and posting on this thread ?

I enjoyed it ! The best thing was my wife enjoyed it and she hates cricket ! If she'll sit down and watch it then there's something good about the game.

As for the spastic comment. No idea ! Did you see Warners deft flick over the fine leg boundary for 6 ? Right off the middle of the bat. Beautifully hit with skill and precision.
