Rooster krieg is a good player, good tagger at sanfl level, but wasnt a magnet who racked em up.. he will be solid, but he wont be as good as Cooper, Nicholas, Nunan, Burch, Bartermucci, Wood an these players i wouldnt think.

personally i reckon the pick up of the year will be daniel roberts from eagles to hahndorf, he will tear it apart, not the most gifted player but he is an absolute hulk who is fit as a fiddle and will run rings around the comp

I thought Fuller and Georgiou would stay at Norwood and if they were thinking of coming back to play Hills Football, wouldn't it be at their Home Club Lobethal?

Lobethal had at crack at the boys, i know that, but i think they have chosen birdwood because of TJ coaching there was some cash on offer. Lobethal have spoken to alot of players tho so hopefully on the right track, not sure how many have signed on...

Agree that Roberts is a good bloke, but i would still have bawden as number one ruckman in the comp. Roberts has a massive frame which is harder to get off the ground, he cant mark all that well and i would imagine Bawden would run rings around him in general play.

Bawden is far and away the best ruckman in the Hills. He is a matchwinner and there isn't any other ruckman in the competition that can dominate a game like he can. He absolutuely destroyed Uraidla in the 07 GF. I did hear recently that he doesn't enjoy football that much and that Lofty had to throw him a few bucks to persuade him to play.

Agree that Bawden is currently the best ruckman in the league. His around the ground play gives him this title IMO as Nichols & Bowen last yr I thought were better with the tap work stuff.

Havent heard of Roberts but if he's a big lad that rucks he'll no doubt be a very good back up for hahndorf who already are not strugglin with height

When discussing recruits & their potential to dominate the league i think its important to remember most guys havent played in hills winter conditions & if the weather is anything like last season a kg of mud hanging from ya boots might not be ideal for some of these lads ... only time will tell.

I wouldnt say by far the best, I know that Smith from Onkas is an extremely good ruckman. Saw him ruck against Nicholas from Handorf and dominate against him, also nearly won Onkas the game when put in ruck against Lofty later in the year when they only lost by a couple of goals.
Collins just didnt ruck him mush cause he perferred to play CHB.

I think they would be worth some coin, very good young players some of which have played reserves footy. I would take them any day

Good, I've been waiting for a challenge.

Bawden far ahead of any ruckman we've played against. Bowen and Nichaloas did very little against IB, but Bawden has presented a near impossible match-up. Height, mobility, and can play.

These three would have to be some of the better players to come out of the junior ranks recently, why wouldnt a club want them? For a rebuilding club like Birdwood paying some good young players could be well worth it

i have hardly seen bawden play so i wont comment.. i wouldnt think he would run rings around roberts fitness wise, roberts was the fittest player at eagles by far!!! and he can jump like a gazelle, he won the standing and running jump at state screening 2 years ago with 81cm standing, and 95cm run and jump.. his best attribute is his mobility pace and fitness, his skills arent to good but he makes up for it with the rest

I agree. If the players have some talent then they would be just what a club in Birdwoods position would want, provided of course that the payments they are receiving is basically just petrol money.

Do you know if these young lads have actually signed rooster? I'd be surprised if Loby just gave up without a fight. They've been desperate to get some of their many talented juniors who left to play down town back in their seniors fold.

Rumour on another thread about Onkas offering a 17 year old from Aldinga who has played 1 U19 game for South $400 a game. Does anyone know anything about this?
