Will be an interesting couple seasons for South, their list is not where it needs to be to be a consistent performer in the immediate future, however if they can stick with Clay as coach and keep the youth coming through then selectively add over the next coming seasons i can see finals not too far away, probably about 3 seasons, they will need to 100% believe they are going in the right direction as these quality young footballers Rolfe, Carroll, Boyd etc will be coming into their prime... Panic and sack their coach and they will remain at the bottom of the ladder for many years to come... One thing Clay will provide is willingness for players to stick around... Competition will be better for a stronger South Adelaide...!!

Watch for a young fella by the name of Liam Green this year men..!!

Each year south are talked up.. each year south let everyone down... Can't see anything changing although for clay's sake i hope it goes well for him... Player turn over down there is always high and that itself is a worrying factor..

South clearly have made significant improvements to the playing list for this season, the gains to the list significantly outweigh the losses to the list which is one of the first years that this has occured. South knocked of Glenelg twice last year with a list that many punters thought was "thin", we have improved on that list and if people think that they can pencil in matches against South Adelaide as easy wins I think you are mistaken!

How can you improve your skills on a wind swept tundra like that ?
No wonder players wont stay ....just imagine training there !

If a team trains in high winds surely it is an easier transition to playing and training in low/no wind than the reverse.

Sdk , not sure who you support, obviously not South. How many times have you visited Hickinbotham Oval?

Can't speak for him, but I remember one very windswept day at Noarlunga around 1996 I reckon. Sturt were coming back strongly in the final quarter but the breeze was picking up also, and we were kicking into it! It came down to the final minutes, the Blues were about 5 points down. Whitey has a shot from about twenty meters, the ball simply refuses to carry into the gale, fortunately Feast marks just outside or on the goalsquare, dead in front. The breeze by then was blowing directly down the ground. I swear the kick was straight, and would normally have gone through at about one third post height. On this day though it got half the way there, held up in the breeze and bent off to the right where it was touched over the line for a point.
Unbelievable!
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Ive been there dozens of times and must admit it'd be the worse place in this part of the world I'd ever want to train in the middle of winter. They couldn't have built the place in a worse spot.

I know what you mean. When it rains down there, it pours, like it did when the juniors were there last year (2008) it was raining for most of both games. But the new development is pretty good.

I don't think supporters of the teams that play at some of the grounds with shocking surfaces should be saying too much about Noarlunga. It often gets too windy there, but the surface is good.

Has anyone kicked a decent bag of goals on that wind hole?

I reckon Scott Hodges managed to bag 10 in a single match there, many moons ago. Spelly?

I would of thought Danny Delrae would hold the record for the most goals in a match at Noarlunga?
Anything above 6 is a great effort i say.

To be honest with you i don't rate the players, the board, the club, the hole of an oval, with that i expect them to finish bottom 3 cause they are a joke to the comp.
