That show is utter crap. Who wants to see a Morris Minor pimped. It's not only the Yanks that take an original idea and butcher it.

Kingswood Country

Postby RustyCage » Sat Dec 03, 2005 12:51 am

Kingswood Country is the second best show to ever be on TV behind Its a Knockout. I loved it earlier in the year when KC was on TV1 every weeknight at 5:30. Bullpit just wasn't the same without all the racial humour.

Now that was a great show. Especially the early episodes with Ned Beatty.

Bayliss' confused sexuality later on was a ripper storyline.

Grass Roots hey,my mates host it,Pete the presenter and Robbo the panelist, looks like next year will be bigger and better.

Could this be the Geoffrey Atherden Grass Roots about a local council?

If so, a brilliant show.

Yeah Magpies, I really felt that show was a winner but it didn't seem to be on long and it got shifted to a very late time slot early on. Don't know if it had a short production span but the bigwigs in TV will shift it to a late slot just because it doesn't rate highly initially.
The whole ratings setup is a bit dodgy though if you ask me. I've heard that in Adelaide it only goes on 500 TV sets!! With the digital age approaching, I bet it would be easy for them to set it up so that they know what every TV is watching but you know it's not going to happen. It's like when they made a big deal about the ratings here the other week. If more people really watched self indulgent millionaire than the Socceroos match against Uruguay, I was born in North Korea. They did concede that a large chunk of viewers would have been watching the game at pubs, clubs, get togethers, etc but it does irk me that advertising sellers would be allowed to say Dictatorial McGuire had the highest rating show for the week. Listening to Ross Warnecke on 5AA is like listening to lawyer justifying the actions of a convicted murderer, he just prattles on in industry mumbo jumbo speak.

Kingswood Country was GREAT.

A few friends and I were drinking one night, we decided we wanted it back on TV so my mate rang up Channel seven (it was on 7 wasn't it?) and asked if they could put it on. Didn't work.

Then he rang up Channel 9 and asked them to put Pugwalls Summer back on.

Again, didn't work.

A couple of shows that I have picked up on video over here in Japan. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has heard of these shows in Australia.
One is "Tru Calling", a drama about a cute girl who works in a morgue where people call out from their dead beds to her to save them. Anybody seen that on Australian TV?
Another is from the makers of Seinfeld and it is centered on the co-writer of that earlier show, Larry David. It is called "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and I thought it was f*****n hilarious. That one was given to me by a Canadian who copied it off a cable network.
"Arrested Development" anyone herad of that one?
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Mythbusters (SBS Mondays)
South Park (SBS Mondays)
Kath and Kim

There's nothing worth watching on Channels 7, 9 and 10 other than the odd footy match.
