New Years Resolutions

Postby hearts on fire » Wed Dec 31, 2008 3:53 pm

Well.... what goals have you got planned for next year?

Mine are:

Learn to drive.
Do better at school.
Have a good footy season.
Get a job(maybe not straight away though) ;)
Keep safe and behave myself.

What are everyone elses New Year's Resolutions?

not too much for me
stay happy and healthy (cliched I know)
ensure our trip to NZ goes ahead, doing a campervan tour, me and the missus and 2 or 3 other couples, NZ vacation, watch out

edit: life is too short, if you wanna do something that you like, then do it, after seeing two close mates pass away in their mid 40's this year to heart related conditions has made me have a good close look at my life

1. to continue on my weight losing ways and get fit enough to regain my A grade position next footy season. would love to get down to 90-95kgs, but even if i dont, i just wanna be fit enough to run out a full game of footy.

2. continue to save $1 a day for my nearly 2 year old son. started doin this about a month ago, and want to eventualy catch up the 650-odd days that he blessed us with his presence in this world that we havnt saved $1 for him.

3. and maybe start saving for me and the missus to have a decent holiday in 2010 aswell. but that probably wont happen, and i know its not that important!

You should put that $1 a day into a bank account (one that you control until 18) By the time your kid is 18, there'll be thousands in the account and give it to them when 18.

You ought to make it older than 18. My dad did a similar thing and tied the money up til I was 30 cos he knew that any younger I'd proably just waste it on crap. Wasn't a fortune but it paid the deposit on my flat...and yeh I would have wasted it if I'd got it any younger.

Clear up the clutter (books, magazines, cds, dvds effing everywhere!!)
Lose another 10-12 kgs.
Learn to play the guitar.

..and try to deal with a friends death in a positive way...
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

My friend has this thing for black men (you know, like the "shwopshire...how wonderful" kind  )

Anyway, on the way into town last night she said her NYR was to give them up.

At 12.10am she was dancing with one and we left her with him at about 1.30am...

That must almost be the shortest time ever to break a resolution...10 mins

My NYR - stop spending money on crap and get back to my "playing" weight ;)

No point in giving up smoking again, I'll only start again in September... :(
