Runs in tee ball have no relevance to Test cricket. Look at Shaun Marsh. Everyone seemed to get so excited about him because he smashed a few around in 20/20 cricket convieniently ignoring the fact that he averages less than 25 in first class cricket and has never done anything of much relevance in the longer form of the game. I am not suggesting D. Hussey shouldn't be considered just that form in 20/20 mean sweet f*** all.

If Dale Steyn takes one more wicket in this match , it will be his 150th.

Steyn will become the equal 4th fastest (in matches, 29) to this milestone.
He will be equal with countryman HJ Tayfield and Ian Botham.

Duds don't average 40 plus in Test cricket.

Stats dont always tell the full story.

Good one day player - YES but simply is NOT a test standard player, its as simple as that as he lacks consistency and the mental application to guts it out when the going gets tough like now.

Yeah, he was terrible when Australia was 4 for f*ck all and he went on to make 156 in the Boxing day Test against England and again when he needed to make runs against India in Sydney last season his 160 was a real failure

Rod his ONLY 2 two centuries in 25 tests
Definitley not good enough to play just as a batsman.
Good enough if playing as an all-rounder- maybe

Yeah, lets pick some youngsters who aren't quite ready and have their confidence shattered by a powerful South African side. Heck, lets drop Hussey while we're at it. He hasn't made many runs lately  Why not see how many changes we can make just for fun. I mean losing a bunch of experienced players all at once has proven successful over the years so why not give the process a helping hand by dropping as many as we can

Let's pick players who are in form and can contribute, not fading stars playing on past glories.

Blooding one player into and experienced lineup as South Africa have done with Duminy is not exactly akin to what people are suggesting Australia should be doing. Duminy has all the blokes around him to give advice and support. Australia already has Siddle who is in just his 3rd Test, Hauritz the same, Haddin has only been in the side for 8 months, another debutant in Hilfenhaus will play in Sydney with Lee injured but people want to bring in another two debutants to add to that list. FFS it simply is a recipe for disaster. 3 debutants, 2 other players playing just their 4th Test, Haddin very inexperienced, Mike Hussey terribly out of form. Could get very very ugly for Australia if that happens.

as growing up there was an old saying "it was harder to get out of the Australian test side than get in it" ;)
changes are needed but i see most players going to sydney and sth.africa unless seriously injured as it appears Lee is
