I wouldnt have thought so Duke... South weren't far off the mark in the season just gone. Yes, they have lost a few good players but they have also replaced them with the likes of Vanderloo, Daniel Lee and McIntyre. I would have thought there would have thought there would be a few more names to add to thta last once the season starts also. Even though Andrew Bevis is tiring, he can still turn a game off of his own boot within 5 minutes!!!

Point taken Tex, it is just an external observation. I think that finishing 6th and thinking it is just off the mark is a sign of accepting mediocrity.

SGFC certainly do not accept mediocrity Duke... by saying they weren't far off the mark i was referring to their form throughout season 2008. They pushed and beat teams above them but would drop games to teams below them... Inconsistency costed them dearly last season

On the Adelaide Plains site. Parrish, Farley and B Lamond all gone to Balak. Long year for the legs.
Give then the best 6 imports money can buy and with only few locals i would think would be A grade
level, Leske and Muster etc still a tough sesason i would think, Good bloke Prousey deserve better,
If they win one game for the year let it be against Kapunda. That would make prousey smile for the way the treated him at the end of the 2008 season.

Rumour on the River Murray site, Kirk Herbele seen talking with Imps. I would bet he is another player who can't stand the Tigers egos.

Pretty sure your right about Farley and Lamond, Brook. Only spoke to Parish yesterday, and he said that no decision has been made yet in regards to what he's doing. Not sure who your source is

Well maybe with all the extra junior coaching and taking time out of his busy job and lifestyle to help kids become better footballers, plus also playing some brilliant senior footy with GC last year, he probably deserves something a little extra from the club. But having said that he has never been one to go searching for coin.
Other clubs pay big money for senior footballers that helpout their own kids in other leagues because they are hard to come by these days.
Although some also help out and play for the love of the club.
About 90% of GC players dont get paid according to my mail.

Correct me if i'm wrong Don Brook, but part of the Chad Norsworthy deal last season was South have an open clearance for any willaston contracted player that wanted to come to the Lions. Just so happened Danny Lee was keen to join the blue and white.. worked out well for South one would think

I have no names yet but it sounds as though the redlegs have recruited a few players but they are keeping their cards very close at this stage. One is apparently coming down from Darwin and will live and do some work in one of the pubs? and another player also moving into the area?

Not too sure about that one Gilligan, Kennedy is firmly commited to Tanunda this coming season so I think both Waikerie and Barmera will both be very upset, unless there has been some massive fall out that I have not heard about.

Skip thanks for the info on Freeling but names would make it a little more credible. Staying at the pub very much sounds like the redlegs getting around import rules?

First things first welcome back Sven, I to have heard the freeling rumours. I heard it was a group of players mostly from West Adelaide 2nds, and a guy from Darwin. One would wonder why you would need to have players living at pubs when you are allocated six imports and so far sign none.

Don Brook on the mark regarding Freeling but well off the mark regarding Sven. I think you will find he is very much enjoying his retirement from the TFC committee and he really has little interest in footy at the moment.

Nothing has changed at Blockville, virtually the same side as last year minus Boh Wall. Absolutely nothing on the recruiting front at this stage. Hope you all have a good Chrissy.

He has Don Brook I actually mentioned it in one of my first posts, he lives in Nuri so he is considered a local, not too sure where he works or how he goes but all reports say he is pretty good, whether he is good enough to cover Boh, we will find out.

Happened to run into a guy at Lincoln on the weekend that new something about the Barossa comp. He was saying that he heard one of the boys that plays for Angaston but comes from the big smoke had moved back home to Streaky. He thought the guy in question had played in the comp for a few years. Can anyone confirm this and would this impact the club much?

Rupert - Lucky for Angaston and unfortunate for the other BL&Gteams, the competotions most revered man Bascombe has only gone home for an extended christmas break. Im sure it is a good romour in Streaky Bay.
