Tell me about it..... i reckon Ponting wants to lose, surely he would know that Johnson has got 12 out of 14 wickets this Test, so surely he would consider bowling him.

perhaps the over rates are down

FD88 wrote:Smacks of too little too late. De Villiers doesn't look like getting out and as everyone is saying, Johnson is the only bowler doing anything. We needed them about 5 down for 270 which didn't happen. They've got all the time in the world to reach this total which means there's no need for them to get out of their comfort zones and score quickly. We may not take another wicket.

Duminey just hit a six. That tells you how well our attack is going.

S.A. need 50 tgo win with 6 in hand

some interesting match Stats up to now

LEE 44 overs 7 maidens 127 runs 1 wicket

SIDDLE 42 overs 7 maidens 128 runs 1 wicket

KREZJA 47 overs 4 maidens 195 runs 1 wicket

Not what I would call an impressive test match attack

well NSW's Bollinger just totally destroyed S.A, in the 2nd Innings, so he must now be right in the selectors eyes, perhaps one for one, LEE back to the Shield and Bollinger into the test side, Hilf to take Siddles place, Punk to take Crazys place, it all works out well

A positive is that our tail is as good as ever. ;)

Well done South Africa, I don't recall ever being a South African basher, the main thing is that they aren't a side to whinge when things don't go their way as FD88 said. Full credit to them, and the Melbourne Test will have immense interest now that Australia will go in to the 2nd Test one down in Australia for the first time since 1988/89.

Great first Test, couldn't have been any better. South Africa are a quality side and we weren't good enough. There needs to be some changes, Siddle needs to go and so does Krejza. We would have been better off bowling no spinner and play Watson, atleast we would get an extra batsmen and he can bowl a bit too. ;)

Congratulations South Africa, i look forward to the next Test.

Thank god I went out today and barely watched any of that. I knew the match was over last night especially with Kallis at the crease. Champion cricketer that guy. I said before this match started that Watson should've been picked over Siddle. Helps the batting and has been bowling well lately. Siddle looked like rubbish in the Test he got in India and looked even worse here. That's stumps on his Test career. I dont give a rats who or what comes in for him but he's no Test bowler.

Unfortunately I was right about Lee. He's a complimentary bowler and if our best bowler in Clark was healthy you'd slot Clark in for him. Hayden's done we can all see that but given there is no opener really knocking on the door he should be given these last two matches and if he still looks terrible blood a new opener in South Africa.

I agree about Hayden playing the next 2, but are you serious that no other openers are knocking on the door

Try Jacques, Rogers, Hughes and Klinger.

If only we had as many bowlers knocking on the door :(

Take a good look Scarlett. You can tell your grandkids how you witnessed the fall of the Australian Cricket Team.
