I think Johnson responded to the cries in the crowd by hitting de Villiers, he really stepped up a notch in that over, and his next over (this one) gets Kallis.

I also think that the crowd is capable of getting a wicket - ever since those few in the crowd started to vigorously barrack, I think both bowlers have lifted a cog.

Well it's time for Lee to stand up, may be his last chance to save his fading  career

Smacks of too little too late. De Villiers doesn't look like getting out and as everyone is saying, Johnson is the only bowler doing anything. We needed them about 5 down for 270 which didn't happen. They've got all the time in the world to reach this total which means there's no need for them to get out of their comfort zones and score quickly. We may not take another wicket.

Realistically, who would we replace him with?

If Clark comes back in for Lee, then the attack is openers- Clark and Johnson (acceptable), with a first change of Siddle (LOL!), and Krejza the spinner...
Lacks a little depth... Brett Lee will play on long enough to reach 100 Tests... Hopefully with a bit more distinction than Matty Hayden's latter stages...

Also need to squeeze Watson in to the line up...

anyone that is getting more than 1 for.

I like the guy when he is on song but alas, he did nothing much in India, yes he got wickets against New Zealand but even I could do that and I am only a batsman, he is now up against class and is way out of form and it is showing

Lee stays, he's bowled without luck and you never know, might turn it around. Imo we NEED Hilfenhaus in this side, he is a super talent who is tough to score from and swings the ball. He isn't talked about as much anymore after struggling with injury but I think if given the chance he will peform very well at the top level.

In: Hilf

Out: Siddle

Edit: Krejza really can play when he's in the zone, I hope they work bloody hard on his control.

Siddle can not play the next test unless his day drastically turns around. Hasn't looked like it!!!
I'd say Bollinger might get first crack. shame Noffke's injured, he's good. Hilfenhaus is a good call. Magoffin took a stack of wickets early in the season.
Poor old Geeves might still be haunted by the T20 match!!

Realistically Siddle should have never played

Krejza worries me as well, sure he got 12 wickets in a test in India but he goes for far too many runs for my liking as has been pointed out in other threads on here, yes you expect spinners go for for a few but not 100 everytime they roll up to the bowling crease.

The good times have gone, whilst Aust will still be up there, the domination has now officially gone. But hell wasn't there some great cricket during that roll

Disappointing so far, but can't really complain, when the top order fails like it did, you can not expect to win.

We are losing to quality opposition, if we are going to lose to anyone, South Africa are the team to lose to.

Yeah at least South Africa plays its cricket down the line so you get a high-quality competitive game. Much better than the whining, controversy and accusations copped when you play that mob of cheats in India.

Game Over IMO, bowling Krejza and Siddle is not going to win us the match.

Tell me about it..... i reckon Ponting wants to lose, surely he would know that Johnson has got 12 out of 14 wickets this Test, so surely he would consider bowling him.
