We have asked the league that we be given a grace period until 2010 to sort the situation out which they have agreed, we know the road ahead is going to be hard but lets take it a step at a time. The talk of us folding or merging wont happen until at least then. The constructive talk and ideas to help the competition and us have been well recieved by the club but the negative vibe from a few on here has also not gone unnoticed.
The club would be definatly interested in talking to anyone who wanted to help rectify the situation in anyway and if the so called consortium was serious we would be happy to work something out.
I look forward to more open discussion with you all in the future, but I am of the opinion that we need the 6 team competition.
Good point tiger07andbeyond...who are you?

20/20 comp is a goer. Looks like it'll just be an A grade comp though, with games played on either Tues/Wed/Thurs during January at Ravendale, with the final to be held on the Thurs night before Tunarama. Games to start at 6pm and finish by 9pm. Orange balls to be used and coloured uniforms encouraged.

Speaking from experience (sorry to go back to the footy, seemed we are on cricket now), but night footy, purely as a spectacle, will get more people watching. It's different, but still the game we all love. Great combo. And the guys that play Fri night may very well pay the $3/$4 to watch one of the other games on Saturday and sink some cans. More crowd numbers. It has to be done.

Massive stakes game between EU and and the eagles at our home this weekend. Yellana must win to have any chance to make the 4, where as we have to win to cement a spot in the 4.

Our outs from last week are ben pugsley (cork thigh) and greg "greasy" symonds. (shoulder possibly season)

In's from last week (unless we have any more crappy last minute pull outs) are Corey Yager, Zac Christian, Neville Strattford, Matty Shcramm, Mark Fraser (to play a full game this time)

We still have fizza stratford sidelined with illness and a few who i wont mention who have niggling injuries which we are hoping to get through the match

I know theres a few yellana gurus who watch this forum so how bout letting us know how the teams shaping up?

HS needs a big game in the ruck, this is where EU can dominate the game. The clash with Hull will be worth seeing as it will decide the game - Hull might be a bit to agile for HS. Should be a comfotable win at home for EU but their midfield could get over-run later in the match.
Boof Marshall to play for Tumby As this week surely to stretch the Rambler backline MB. Tumby have some big ins .....Massive game any thoughts?
Have to question Tony Olssens write-up in the Cougers v Lock game he states ' Gus Glover will have his work cut out meeting an in-form Vinnie Phelps'...... correct me if I am wrong but while I was there in the second qauter last week D Rule kicked 5 on him...and ended up with 13. Put Gus down for 10.

dont you worry about the midfield grub, thursday night at sandbar has been canned for this weeks game so we can keep up with the fast pricks
We're barracking for cougars, if we lose this week and lock win they'll move to 3rd a game clear of us leaving us on level terms with yellana. Our last 2 games are ramblers at cummins and lock at home, we have a better percentage than lock so could be a last round showdown to make the finals, what is it with players pulling out of teams at the last minute at this time of year? you would think since we've been doing the season since febuary, and only a few games to go all your heart would be in the game at this stage of the year!

Club Challenge stays, Rav 1 will be used but also the Plastic pitch from Mallee Pk will be "borrowed" and "laid out properly" so Bluey told me Tues morning.

It makes a good bench for stretching your hammy's in the visitors rooms!!

Just adding to that, at Wangary we have a full size fridge in the changerooms, I saw Scotty Charman using that to stretch his hammy's

Grub - Yes we have some important in's, but unfortunately lose more again this week. In's for the Blues will be Curtis, Shannon and Jacob Cave back from suspension. Out's include Syd Lawrie, Nigel James, (Suspended), Tuna, Sammy Reid, John Hunt and David Butler. These blokes leave a massive hole in our defence and losing Jamesy forces Coady to ruck all day. Ramblers look to be at full strength this week, so a tough one for us.

On the Friday Night sports, I was up Pirie a few years ago and watched a Friday Night Cricket game and the crowd was absolutely massive and they normally have the same problem as our cricket - ie not many supporters.

Friday Night is the go for playing under the lights for both footy and cricket - crowds will be huge.

The problem at the moment is that we are currently in the process of re-building.
We have and will continue to clean out players and supporters that aren't conducting themseleves in the required manner that the club desires, thus leaving our player ranks extremely thin as we have all seen this year. This will change in the next 2 years.
The support from the players, businesses and supporters has dropped of considerably over the last ten years which has hurt us. We are trying to rectify this.
The club is looking at ways to utilise the facilities better and get people through the doors as we have a good oval with a great surface. Combining with another sport has been disscused along with a face-lift for the club which is the number one priority in my opinion. Finding the funds for the face-lift and extension is the problem but we have to do it to change the image and compete with the other clubs.
We open the club up on Friday nights and get half a dozen loyal supporters turn up, this is the only night we open the club besides a Thursday or Saturday night.
Baseball is played here in summer but the bar turnover is hardly worth putting on staff and the womens group use the hall on a Tuesday afternoon. We simply need more people through the doors and the only way I see it happening is with a face-lift.
As stated previously we are looking for ideas in an off-field sense to get the club back up and running again. I welcome any response.

Tiger, something as simple as an old beer van alongside the changerooms would be a good start. Give the supporters somewhere to congregate and have a few cans together, no one drinks inside.
