Might as well call it off now and give the players an extra Christmas break.

Can thank Thornley for that, NSW batted totally defensively and were playing for a draw right from the 1st ball of the game

can't believe that declaration, as though NSW are going to go out and belt 150 real quick and declare, think we have fallen for the 3 card trick here and lost the only points available     and I bet Borgs is real impressed

Thats a bit harsh, declaring when Borgas is on 90!

Does Manou think about what he does? he could have let the guy make his ton then declare.......

Was always going to happen.

I'm sure Borgas would have been told well in advance when the declaration would be.

2 points in this game between the 2 bottom teams are worth nothing.

NSW declared as well, 6 down. They could have made 600 if they'd kept batting.

The only way SA will make the final is to keep winning outright.

Full marks to Manou for declaring.

SA have 6 points to gain, 2 to maybe lose.

It was always the only option, despite your whinging :D

S.A. have as much chance of making the final as Westies have of making the G/F next year, long range forecast for Sydney is heavy rain from around 2pm tomorrow, should have batted on and attempted to get 2 points at least

When SA were chasing down big 1st innings earlier in the season everyone was calling for declarations to chase outright points. The vibe was to forget the 2 points as there was a bigger picture.

Now we do exactly that; and now we want them to settle for the 2 points only. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

I'd call 3-300 a moral victory and at least the game is still open for a result, however unlikely. NSW can still set a target with enough time for some hope of bowling SA out, which is what we want from here.
In between signatures .....

In the first match hondo, there was only one in favour of the declaration - there was about a dozen who wanted the first innings points.
