If we can get the lead to around 350, i think we will win...... Clarke or Symonds have to make a hundred though.... because we can't ask the tail to perform again like they did last innings.

Pitch appears to be more and more difficult to bat on, our best explosive batsman at the crease together have put on 39 in 104 balls

No, the dismissal against one of the Ireland players when they beat Pakistan last year was worse. But having seen Hayden out on the replay, it's just as bad as far as a mistake goes. It should not be weighed against him though.

Clarke now gone, Aussies are in big trouble

5/148

lead 237

Andrew Symonds IMHO holds the key to the rsult of this test match

The Jarpies made 281 the first time around and now puffs of dust are occaisonaly coming from the pitch with the odd ball going 'through the top'. There will be less consistent bounce than the first dig too. I reckon another hundred will do us here. At this stage Australia slightly ahead.

hell yeah. That lead needs to be about 300 at the minimum. Although the pitch is starting to look a little more encourging for bowlers.

obviously were talking a fair bit about haydens lack of runs/form, but is anyone else concerned about the softness of symonds' dismissals so far this summer inc the shield games

Tell you something, I keep thinking about this morning when iirc Johnson had the 10th wicket skied towards Lee and he opted out to let Haddin try for it. At that stage we were up by about 120 runs - that extra buffer right now would be very nice.

This current lead is big enough to defend, i think this series will be a bowlers series.
