Good: Woodville, Richmond, Prospect, Adelaide(they spoilt it when they put those plastic seats near the fence)

Not So Good: Noarlunga, was an opportunity for something good... maybe once the trees grow, Unley needs an outer.
Trust the process.

I must reluctantly say I like Glenelg to watch footy. Rivalry is good but they do go over the top a bit. Adelaide for the same reasons as TB the walk down King William St after the game, pub crawling is unique. Call me biased but for me (take away the emotion) is Richmod. Good parking, best BBQ in the world and a great venue to sit or stand and watch the game.

Have you heard of a train, or a bus ? No wonder there's no South supporters at games.

There's nothing better than being at Alberton watching your side beat Port.

Alberton is hell easy to get to by bus or train.

Doesn't even cost that much by taxi from town.

I agree the cock at Prospect is annoying, however i like watching footy there it has a real local feel to it, glenelg also a good ground to go to for atmosphere.
Unfortunately I will not be voting for our ground as it is one of the worst.
Needs major redevelopment and no one has ever told me why the grandstand is in the pocket.
The Bramalco is a joke and the outer well, it's great for someone like Peter Falconia.
You can get lost out there, not very well planned out for the amount of space that is there.
Melrose Park that aint South I'm talking about the real South.

Elizabeth Oval would easily be the best looking suburban ground on tv, from a centre bounce point of view,

I went with Thebarton, purley for its historic feel, not unlike the Brunswick Oval in Vic, yet in terms of actual attendance I more often find myself at the Parade or the Ponderosa, mainly due to living in the Northern suburbs.

My favourite ovals would be Richmond, Glenelg, Woodville, Adelaide and Elizabeth.
Richmond Oval definitely has the best BBQ going around.
I like Prospect Oval except for the angle of the ground - things never quite feel right there.
At Norwood Oval, I always worry about the prospect of a major injury with the close proximity of the grandstand wall to the boundary line. Car parking is also extremely difficult there.
I find Unley Oval far too congested.
Overall, we are well served with grounds in the SANFL.

TBH there's something unique about every suburban ground. With the poll I would have liked it to have been restricted to just the club grounds and not including Thebarton, Adelaide or Footy park - but as Wedgie did it I know he would have wanted a say on those places as well! :D

There are many factors that come in to play when assessing the merits of a ground, including location, parking, food and drink, service, atmosphere, ambience, aesthetics, vantage points, children, disabled facilities, visitors rooms, match day entertainment and so on. If anything, this thread just makes me appreciate how much fun a day at the SANFL is.

I like Norwood for the history & the suburb.....also that downstairs toilet is something else, should be heritage listed! Mmmmm.....I can still smell it now.

Yes, you keep expecting to find Anne Frank down there.

I tend to agree with Squawk, I enjoy the experience of every opposition venue and then it's always good to return home every weekend or 2.

I understand why the AFL needs to play at the biggest stadiums in every state, but I think it's taken away a lot of the character and charm that comes with playing at Suburban grounds regularly.
